This transformer has long connecting wires and can be used with a Ring doorbell 2. It simply plugs into any nearby standard 120 volt outlet. Keeps the battery in the Ring doorbell 2 charged. enables the Ring battery to be used without needing to be recharged. Additional functions, such as "live view," are made possible by having continuous power. Longer recording times are possible because of this feature. Our house is more than 53 years old and already has a doorbell installed. I replaced the existing transformer after the original doorbell stopped working. Unfortunately, the doorbell was still not working. I'm not sure why the original stopped working, but replacing the wiring was a task beyond my capabilities. Even just looking for the original transformer took me several hours. After failing to get a Ring doorbell pro to work, I went with a wireless doorbell. I figured keeping one with a camera would be a good idea. As a result, the Ring doorbell 2 was selected. The ring doorbell pro has been discovered. The ring doorbell 2 has the same features as the original, but it also comes with a battery. 2 ring doorbells are connected It worked perfectly, but I decided to buy an extra ring battery just in case. Given that the additional ring battery was nearly twice the price of this transformer. Instead of buying an extra battery that would need to be recharged, I decided to buy this transformer because I was lazy and frugal. br>I chose to put this transformer near the ring doorbell because it was convenient. a power outlet On an inside wall, opposite where both the original and then the ring doorbell were mounted, I ran the wire along the top of about five feet of baseboard, then along the front door trim until I was about four inches from the door trim. Through the drywall and insulation, I drilled a hole. The transformer wire was guided to the outer wall, where the Ring doorbell 2 connection sites were, using a straightened wire clothes hanger. It works great after connecting the wire provided with this transformer to the Ring doorbell. To finish my project, I used 5 wire clips to secure the transformer, then filled the hole I had drilled with putty. painted to match the drywall on the inside You did a fantastic job. By the way, this transformer also works with an original Ring doorbell, which is why I gave one to a Ring doorbell owner.

My Nest doorbell is working perfectly. This one does not have grommets on the wire ends like another Amazon offering, but that one only has a shorter wire, which I needed at least 25 feet of, so I had to order this one. It's a little more difficult to put together without grommets than it is with them. This one does a great job of powering my doorbell.

Should I replace my batteries or upgrade to a newer model? I made the decision to try it out. It's been more than two years now. period of time I must say that it has performed admirably; however, your batteries must be fully charged prior to plugging it in, as instructed, when you first install it. After plugging it in, this was the strange part. The battery was quickly depleted. WTF? Don't be alarmed, it will start charging back to 100% at some point. Within the first two weeks, it did this to both rings a few times. Well it has been charged at 100% for 2- a long time So far, everything has gone according to plan. Thanks!.

For years, I debated whether or not to get a Nest doorbell because I didn't want to have to buy a new doorbell transformer and figure out all of the complicated wiring and connections. But then this product came along, and I literally fed the wires through a hole in my wall, connected it to my doorbell terminal, and plugged it into my garage outlet, and I was done. Thanks to this device, installation has never been easier or faster. The only thing I think could be improved is the addition of small metal pieces to the ends of the wires to make connecting to the terminal easier.

The product is exactly as described, and there is enough cable to run between two outlets, so it worked out perfectly. It functions flawlessly with my Ring Video Door Bell Pro. Keeps the voltage at the proper level, allowing Ring to respond to live views quickly. It's set to 2 for me. With a signal strength of over 4000mv (per ring's health), 4ghz 48mbps WiFi is a good choice.

This was used to power a Ring doorbell. Hubby had to rearrange things because it didn't fit in the space he had hoped for. Since the installation at Christmas, I haven't had to charge my battery. When checking the device's health on Ring Doorbell, it says "hardwired" under power source, and the battery icon shows fully charged.

This is what I used on the first video doorbell. This, I hoped, would eliminate the need for battery recharging. The Ring doorbell's creators fail to mention that if you live in a northern state, you may need to charge the battery once a week during the cold winter months. The battery still had to be charged after using this power adapter. I've only had to charge it once since connecting it to the transformer, and only time will tell when I'll need to do so again.

Since the previous owners had removed our house's doorbell and hidden the wiring, I purchased this to power our new Ring Video Wired doorbell. The length of the Ring product was insufficient - This has a generous 25-foot length, which allowed it to reach the doorbell from our nearest outlet. For the past month, the doorbell has functioned flawlessly with it.
