I think copper is good
In order to connect our Winnebago to the power, we use our 10 gauge extension. You should be able to find out what gauge cord to use from the hot tub instructions.
There is a brand out of Commerce, California. They may import it or manufacture it there. I am not familiar with its manufacturing process. They claim that they are only interested in large wholesalers on their website. Due to the fact that this cord is one of the best I have ever used with my RV, I am recommending it. I like the functionality of it, despite it being a bit stiff.
The SJTW Heavy Duty Indoor Outdoor 10 Gauge Extension Cord would be ideal for outdoor applications. Wednesday, October 3

The cord functions as a power cord of sorts when I am plugged into a standard outlet while I am camping. I was able to use this cord to pull full power for my air conditioner even in a hot summer in Tucson, AZ. There was also a problem with other cords that overheated and tripped the GFI 15-amp breaker outdoors. Aside from the power indicator LEDs at each end, I also like the buttons on the side. It coils well, even though it is thick. It is exceptionally well insulated on the outside. There is a lot of quality workmanship in the male and female end plugs. Any friend would be happy to receive this cord as a gift. I am SURE that if you want a nice gift for the RVer on your list, you will be very pleased with this power cord, even if it isn't 'cute'.
Please accept my apologies. I had to return this cord. I compared the size of the wire to a Yellow Jacket cord that I received yesterday, and there is a significant difference in the conductor. I am referring to the conductor, There appears to be a 12 ga wire. The clear plastic plugs on both cords make it easy to see the wires, so comparison is straightforward.
When we are out there hanging out and working on the motorhome, we occasionally park the motorhome in the yard and need to plug it in to charge its batteries and run its air conditioning. In the case of standard thin house extension cables, AC would only last a few minutes due to the cable becoming hot and the voltage dropping. I was worse off when it was super hot outside. *
* * *We picked up this cable because the gauge was thicker, so it is able to hold up to 15Amps without fading, so the AC will be able to keep a constant supply Despite the high humidity, it is able to keep our air conditioner running efficiently. It would have been wise to pick up this extension cable long.
It was bought for my RV so I could run shore power from a 110 house outlet. An adapter that comes with it lets me run it from 15 to 30 amps. The number 12 wire and adapter plug on my AC unit were overheating so the large wire and shorter length was necessary. Using the 15 amp circuit I am connecting to my AC unit, it draws 17 amps, which is a little more than I expected. It works well with the larger wires and the shorter lengths, and it does My experience was positive, but I would advise using caution and monitoring the connection point for excessive heat. I am not an electrician, so I am not giving advice.
In accordance with the fair regulations, the fence had to be at least 100 feet and 10 gauge. I was able to connect using this cord. I liked how it stood out from other cords because of its pretty green color. The cord is heavy to carry around and isn't the easiest to roll up since I have short arms, but if anyone can enjoy an extension cord, I love mine! I didn't like spending the money, but now that I have, I couldn't be more pleased.
The cord serves as a power source for my RV when I bring it home to load up and get ready for a camping trip. There is a noticeable fading of the cord after just a few uses, but the plastic on the cord is still firm and there are no cracks at all. This is a heavy cord, but it is flexible when heated.
I bought this cord to use with my generator during hurricane season to run a portable air conditioner. My favorite was so good that I will order another one in the near future. As we all know, the smaller the number, the thicker the cable is, so this one will not get hot around the plug ends, as I read a few reviews and I don't anticipate that happening with this one.
I use 12/3 AWG wire now, so the larger wire provides me with the added safety I need. I also like the lighted end when I plug in my extension cords at night, so I can easily locate them and see when power is on.
