I have a 240V dryer and it works fine.
My dryer may not be the correct one for you. The 40 amp setting on the socket should work fine. I have not had any issues with my socket.
Despite the fact that the picture of our range power cord is accurate, the outlet behind your dryer and the cord behind the dryer should have an L-shaped plug. This terminal has a 'shape' to it. There are three straight terminals on range cords and outlets as shown in this listing and in the photograph. To avoid damaging the dryer's power cord, use only you have an outlet behind your dryer with three straight terminals, the outlet is a range outlet and you need a cord to change the outlet to a dryer outlet. Consult a service professional to change the outlet to a dryer outlet.
I know that this will work, but do you really need ten feet?

I received my new stove without a cord from Home Depot. In our old house, we didn't have any 4-wire outlets. There are two prongs to the outlet. The three prong outlet was obsolete in 1994, so it is hard to find cords with three prongs. The installation instructions for this product can be found on youtube if you are not an electrician. You will learn from stove reviews that stoves do not come with a cord and that you will have to hire an electrician to connect it for you. However, I should have known this since the stove has been in my possession for thirty years and it was installed by an electrician who owned the home before. Better than anything you can buy at Home Depot or Best Buy, this cord provides greater power. The construction is very solid.
What's the reason? It was not possible to buy the proper electrical connector for the range at the store. As far as this unit was concerned, I insisted on the one specified by the manufacturer. It was wonderful to be able to get the correct one at a lower cost than the store had quoted.
My electric stove had been too short for me to move it, but the cord at the hardware store around me was too short too. I was able to get this replacement cord from this store instead. I am not an electrician, so it took me some time to figure out how to properly install but with some YouTube help and some common sense I was able to do.
It is much better quality than the one we picked up at the store, and it was easy to install, just done by watching a video on Google and it took about 10 minutes.
It would be great if you could share a video of the installation!.
The new product is made of plastic and is very easy to install. It is not tested for durability, but is an excellent price.
The best is when I don't have to search the aisles of a big box store.
I liked how it worked, but I thought the directions were a bit confusing.
