Questions & Answers

Using 1/0 cable and large terminals to run a solar inverter/charger comes to an end. What size binding posts do you have?

The Terminal Stud Size is 5/16" - I have the 200 Amp version. All of the 187 Series are numbered 18, as is the case with all of them. https: //www. bluesea. com/7049/187-com/products/7049/187-com/products/7049/187-com Breaker_of_Series_Circuits- _Panel_Mount_200A _Panel_Mount_200A _Panel_

IS IT CAPABLE OF WORKING ON ANY VOLTAGE FROM 12V TO 48V DC?

I purchased the 200-amp model but have yet to install it. The following is taken from the website of the Blue Sea: Capacity for Interrupts - 5000 amps at 12 volts, 3000 amps at 24 volts, and 1500 amps at 42 volts, with a maximum voltage of 48 volts DC. All amperage models appear to have identical specs. https: //www. bluesea. com/products/7149/187 com/products/7149/187 com/products/7149/187 Breaker_of_Series_Circuits- _Surface_Mount_200A _Surface_Mount_200A _Surface_M

The money spent on good breakers is well spent
5/5

It is critical to have breakers. They go unnoticed once installed, working in the background to keep your wiring and devices from failing and putting your life in danger. There are a plethora of junk breakers on the market today, many of which are made of questionable materials and shoddy workmanship. They trip early if you're lucky, and they're a nuisance all the time. If you're unlucky, they won't trip at all, and your gear, as well as possibly yourself, will be burned. It's not even close to being worth it. Pay a little more for better quality, and you'll get a good night's sleep. It's a lot better than cutting corners and "resting in peace. ".

My normal working 70 amp version tripped at 60 amps
5/5

For my solar projects, I use these kinds of breakers. They are available in a number of different sizes. It enables you to manually open and close the circuit whenever you want without having to move wires. These go in front of and behind each solar charge controller. This is useful for routine maintenance, system troubleshooting, or simply turning off a portion of the system. When the environment gets warmer, they will trip at a lower level than the rating, which is by design. My 70 amp version, for example, tripped at 60 amps when it should have been fine. When the temperature around the system exceeded 110 degrees Fahrenheit, 5 amps were drawn. In any case, you don't want to expose the system to temperatures in that range. The breaker resumed normal operation after the heat had been exhausted.

Materials of the highest caliber I'm not sure what they put in this marine-grade circuit breaker, but it has to be good! In my minivan, I use this as a master switch to turn off all of the auxiliary electronics
5/5

At least five to fifteen times a day, this switch is turned on and off! br>br>I went through about 5 different low-cost Chinese marine-grade circuit breakers that claimed to be as good as this one. The cheap Chinese ones, on the other hand, kept breaking, burning out, or leaking current even when they were turned off! When it comes to circuit breakers, particularly marine-grade ones, quality is crucial. br>br>As someone who has wired a lot of electrical equipment, I can tell you that this is probably the one area where you don't want to cut corners or save money! You can't go wrong with anything Blue Sea has to offer. If you're going to buy a marine-grade circuit breaker, this is the one you should get!.

They meet all of the requirements
5/5

I went with the 150A model. I tested these breakers in the same way that I tested the cheaper brands. The other brands would trip between 80 and 90 volts (sometimes even lower). I was able to run this brand at 120A for about 45 minutes before I had to lower the current because my test equipment was becoming too hot. These appear to work at the current they are rated for. If you're looking for breakers that actually meet their specifications, don't waste your money on the less expensive brands; instead, get these. In addition, the resistance measured was around 0. Ohms are measured in tenths of a tenth of a I found this brand to be far superior to the other brands I tried. Pads around the studs are very nice, resulting in very low contact resistance.

It was purchased secondhand
3/5

came with a ticket. I went with the used version because it was about $13 cheaper than the new one. It arrived filthy, with the top right screw hole completely busted open and the wire fastening nuts shown in the photo missing. Don't waste your money on these used people.

This circuit breaker is fantastic
5/5

You know it'll be good because it's from Blue Sea Systems. We used this as both the main breaker and the battery disconnect for our RV power system in case we needed to perform maintenance. It's small, visible when tripped, and simple to trip if you need to turn it off. It's been put to good use for the past six months and appears to be holding up well. Thanks!.

Great product; though a little pricey, they are well made
5/5

In my RV, I use these to serve two purposes. They can be used as both fuses and circuit breakers. This is especially important in an RV with limited space.

It's also great for cars
5/5

This was used in place of a fuse in an auxiliary fuse block I installed in my Jeep. After using a Blue Sea fuse block and being impressed with its quality, I decided to purchase their circuit breaker as well. The rubber stud caps are a nice touch, and the unit is of good quality. The red button, which allows you to manually trip the breaker, is the most useful feature. Intended for marine use, I've had no problems with it on my Jeep for over a year and don't expect to in the future.
