To be honest, I find this a little pointless. I love zero clearance inserts for reducing tearout, but any dado use thinner than your widest setting is effectively going back to a standard insert. I also disagree with the top poster that you need to use a different one for each blade height. In the same manner as material on either side of the blade teeth, the amount of cutout in front of or behind the blade does not affect tearout. To achieve 3/8 clearance I simply cut my zero clearance to 3/8 and make a few passes based on my needs. I use a Forrest 1/3 or 3/8 reversible box dado set. As a result, the amount of tearout is kept at a
It is unknown to me what a so called standard insert is. An insert with a pop-up does not seem to have one You can lift up the handle to pull out an insert, but some inserts use a set screw to keep them in place.
I am not sure yet. The Professional, 10" model is the one I have. The 75 HP set has a Freud dado set of eight inches in height and works well.
Hello and thank you for contacting me. For your set up, we do not recommend cutting with a standard 10" blade without either a blade guard or riving knife, but a dado insert will work as you describe.

For the dado insert to fit my table saw stop, I had to raise the screws in the table saw so they would be able to engage. Considering it is a genuine saw stop part and costs the same, this is disappointing. I have to adjust the screws on the table saw every time I switch between the regular insert and the dado insert. There is a big difference in the thickness of the heads of the screws on the one that came with the machine and the dado insert I purchased on Amazon.
The black inserts on my older Industrial Sawstop are missing. A screw held the Allen screws in place, and you tightened it down to hold them down. There is no need to spend more for a little convenience.
As soon as I got my Dado set, I was looking for an insert to use with my blade, and this does the trick. Fit and finish are great, and the product is very A zero clearance blade insert for the Stopsaw table saw comes with instructions on how to make it. The instructions can be used with any zero clearance blade insert.
In reality, this dado insert is no more special than the fact that it fits on SawStop table saws properly. Even after adding a backer board over the blade's back edge while raising it to the last inch or so, I was disappointed that it still had extra chipout at the back of the blade. SawStop's lock-up kit is similar to most of its accessories, but this device not only comes with It seems quite expensive to buy down inserts at $40 each, so I'm probably going to convert mine to accept hardboard inserts so I don't have to buy them as often.
This is very useful when you want to do something you normally would do with a dado, but were unable to when you bought the sawstop for safety.
This is an insert I bought recently for a crosscut blade that has zero clearance. This part of the insert is a little pricey, but I like that it locks down like the other ones When I get my dado set, I will buy another one. Investing a little more in sawstop quality will be well worth it if you ask me.
The tool's price is too high for what it offers Original Equipment Manufacturer.
