Questions & Answers

I am using 4/0 gauge wires at a distance of An MSW inverter of 2500w is included with the 3/8 piece rings. Should I use a 400 amp fuse or will this 4/0 cable fit under the fuse cover?

It's sorry Willydon, but I used a 2 gauge conductor with the ANL fuse holder that I bought, and I am unfamiliar with the OD of a It is likely that the ring terminals with be mainly under the cover and the diameter of the wires won't be an issue. It is best that you use a fuse on the 12V input line to the inverter, and the fuse should be installed It is recommended that the inverter manual specify the fuse rating, but I think 400 Amps is a bit high for a 2500 watt inverter operating In one inverter manual I checked, the fuse was specified as a 250 Amp one.

If this fuse gets wet, will it fail?

If it gets wet, it will not fail. Wet it off and then dry it. If the water is salty, it could short across the fuse.

Fuse holders have a very sturdy base, so what is it made out of?

manufacturer's website clearly states that the base material for this product is reinforced polycarbonate.

Is there a particular order in which I should install the fuse, terminal and washer ?

In a wiring diagram, the fuse should be on the bottom, so that it is even height on both sides, no matter how many wire terminals are used on one side as opposed to You should place the terminal(s) of the wire on top of the fuse, so that as well as the fuse, the wiring is pressed against the tin This copper-plated block is made of solid copper. There's a washer and nut that holds it in place but they're steel, which is less conductive -- You are likely to have higher resistance and heat generation under load if you pile a washer between the other things, which could melt the plastic or cause the fuse to blow early.

Fuse holder made of hard plastic with no frills
5/5

Instead of the "car audio" fuse holder, I swapped it for this one that uses terminal lugs on all the power cables. As someone who has used other Blue Sea products in the past, I can vouch that they are the standard of excellence when it comes to electrical wiring and installation. The materials are high quality and reasonable in price. The construction of this single fuse holder is typical Blue Sea, with quality hardware, rugged material and ease of Compared to other types of holders, this is much better. As you pull off the cover it may seem like you will break it, but try snapping off the tabs for side-exit installation and you will see how much force it will actually take to.

Be careful not to blow the The Blue Sea fuse holders have made my solar systems safer and have been a great way to disconnect the power so I can work on them
5/5

I've got 2 of them for each line. The power of two is greater than the power of I also connected my RV's solar system with 400 watts and plugged it into the 600 watt system in my house. 8 deep cycle batteries and a lot of amps will be needed in order to keep it all running. There are two people in a camper and six people for the Disconnects on my Anderson 400 amp plus are Anderson 400 amp plus. It's just a matter of pulling both ends of the plug to separate and fuse them.

Product appears to be solid, but I found it a little too tight on my face
4/5

It has a solid, heavy-duty base mounted with #10 screws. It is very stable and provides lots of stability for an important piece of equipment Ensure that your system is connected to a power source. It is a good fit to use an Anl fuse. One problem is that it is very challenging to remove the lid because it is so tight. Using a file to dull the tabs probably helped, but I still dread trying to get the lid off in the event that I blow a fuse.

As far as they are concerned, they are adequate
5/5

As for electricity, I don't play around with it. All the components in my van are blown. I think these are very well-written Made from heavy materials The fuse holders are heavy duty and have a plastic cover to keep them safe. This quality product meets my safety criteria, so spend more on it instead of a cheap breaker. Don't waste your safety on cheap fuses buy this among the best.

I prefer these fuse holders to other fuse holders I have purchased in the past
5/5

The price of this fuse holder is a bit higher but it is worth it. As soon as the cover is clicked into position, it locks in place. The cap does not fall off in any way. In order to connect wires at 90 degrees to the fuse, tabs can be removed to make this possible. In my opinion, this is something I would recommend.

Fuse holder of good quality
5/5

It feels high quality, but I wish it had come with lock washers As I read, other similar, cheaper holders have that problem where the lid pops off easily. I got a few from Lowe's and they worked perfectly.

Blue Sea 12 volt wire protectors are used to keep the wires safe from Blue Sea
5/5

To protect the wiring from the Blue Sea battery charger, which runs at 12 volts, 40 amps. It is extremely difficult to remove the plastic covers. So we used a file to modify the "catch" and that fixed it. The cost of the fuse is high.
