Questions & Answers

Suppose I install the interlock upside down. How will it stay in place if I do that?

It is not unusual to have panels on their side It is even possible that this is necessary in certain circumstances such as the NEC code's limit on the height of a main breaker. There is a rating that makes it capable of achieving that, & There is no question the interlock kit would pass an inspection every time. The location of (drilled) mounting holes on the panel cover is the most crucial, but still fairly straightforward. Make sure you install a breaker "tie down" for the new generator breaker. It is necessary to secure the generator breakers in place to prevent them from being accidentally knocked by the locking The last thing you want to do is drop the man who is working 16 hour days, 40 feet in the air, in a 3*3 bucket, all for the sake of providing power to a community that most likely does not even live there. For a set up that is inexpensive, but still functional, it is not worth it. It should be cheaper than $10 to buy a tie down. There are a few old, outdated panels that do not have a tie down option that is compatible with current technology. If they do not have a tie down option, (2) zip ties must be used. You wrap zip ties around the outside of the generator breaker, along with the breaking system directly across from it, securing them in towards one another and securing them both together In the direction of the main highway There is a center bus bar on the bus. / (Both the closest left column breakers &/ A tightening forces is applied to the right column breakers closest to the main. As soon as the panel cover is installed, zip ties will no longer be visible. Assuming you were standing directly in front of the wall panel, the panel would appear on your right If you wrote "0" on the wall, you could see the zit ties behind the cover, which would be in the same position as if you had written As soon as they are tightened, the corners are more square. In the event that someone is not able to follow these instructions, I recommend hiring a Being honest is all you can do.

I installed my panel so that the main breaker is at Therefore, I was using the wrong interconnect. What are my options for replacing the decals?

My instructions were simple stick the caution sticker over the upside down decal. The interlock goes on the lower right, just follow the directions that come with it. This device will operate in accordance with its design and listing

I am willing to This chart shows how to work with a 200amp Eaton. There is a horz on it. Throw the ball. Dimming according to 1 1/2 is right. Furthermore, the photos seem to be identical. Is it going to happen?

I've tested it on my 150 amp panel and it worked

What is the compatibility of this chip with a CH30JJM150?

The panel I believe you have is a vertical throw panel. See if the 2nd picture matches your panel by referring to the picture. The EAT-interlock kit should be tried

For the backfeeding panel, there is a generator interlock
5/5

Despite the complexity of the installation, the interlock works perfectly as described. I probably spent fifteen minutes drilling and mounting the item according to the instructions with pictures that were provided. Though it might take me less time, I never rush and make sure everything is perfect. That being said, I always take my time. You should have a professional install everything if you are not mechanically inclined or know nothing about electrical installation. made sure all was safe before I attempted this, and I researched a lot. A backfeeding interlock like this is a must have. To maintain safety and avoid energized lines, you have to turn off the main power before you can run your generator power through the panel. I have a 10,000 watt generator with 30 amp and 50 amp plugs and it is connected to a 50 amp outlet with a 6/3 cable. As you can imagine, the stiff, 6/3 wire isn't the easiest to work with, but I wanted to be able to have as much power as possible at my disposal. Furthermore, I purchased a 50amp generator cord that extends from both ends of the generator (240v) to allow me to use both legs of the generator. Ice storms and hurricanes have caused our power to go out a few times. We will no longer be using extension cords from the 30amp plug to run through the house. This thing can easily plug into my wall outlet and I will be able to power most of my house at the same time. There's no doubt that this interlock seems incredibly expensive for what you get, but when your power goes out, it's well worth the price.

I feel that it is overpriced for what it is
3/5

It works, but you have to be cautious with drill size. The cost of materials and labor for these is about $20? The other option available to you is to use a transfer switch if you plan to use a portable generator. The project had much more complexity and cost a great deal more money. The backfeeding of panels is so much simpler and more elegant than an actual As I'm very handy with electricity, I picked up a gennie (portable) and backfeed in addition to an outdoor 50amp connection. There are some of my neighbors who set up like this and didn't bother with an In the event of something happening to me, I could imagine my young son getting into trouble, therefore, I decided to use the interlock system. For the price, I would expect perfection, but the front metal piece for my model had a very sharp stamping flash that had to be filed Despite the fact that it is $0. 01, I get what you're saying. You can use them if you have breakers next to the backfeed breakers, but they are impossible to use if your backfeed breaker also has breakers. With a price of $72, it's just barely too low for DIYers to decide against making it. Since the drill bit included in the package is too small, the mount screws begin to bite into the panel's metal surface. Thanks to my quick thinking, I stopped the process as the mounting screw was so soft that it began to strip. To clear the hole, I had to use a drill bit that I made myself. Despite the fact that it's installed and working, I feel that I overpaid. I am fine with a profit as long as it is.

This is an installation It was a simple process to install
5/5

It did initially slide over top of the main breaker handle, but I was able to fix that. In this case, the electrician who installed the panel did not adjust the face plate back so that it did not push back on the breaker. A red circle and a black circle are visible in the photo. There is a screw in each of those holes that adjusts the depth of the faceplate of a breaker. The face plate on the breakers will need to be pushed back onto them by turning these. Usually electricians overlook this step, as it is supposed to be done in order to ensure the breakers are seated and do not pop out. After the face plate is adjusted correctly, you should be able to see about 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch of the main breaker sticking out of the face plate. Pictured here is what you see. In the event of an interlock malfunction, the faceplate needs to be adjusted correctly to work. I think this is a great setup.

The best way to solve the problem compared with X You can switch it on
5/5

It is far more efficient, and much more cost effective, than using a portable generator to power up your house (panel). Installation was relatively easy. After reading the instructions about 13 times, I followed them. Here we are It is not necessary to pull out extension cords if the power goes out. There are several quibbles with the price, but such a price is a bit excessive for what it is Although it is a good alternative to "the alternative", we're still giving it a 5 star rating.

We received it today and installed it To determine the exact model that I needed for my upside down breaker panel, it took me some time
5/5

There was almost a mistake in my order! Having received it today, I installed it in less than 20 minutes, despite the fact that it was very easy. I use it with an upside down panel and it works perfectly. This product features a high price, but a very high quality. As the old saying goes, do it once, cry once.

Plate tranferred from one country to another

It was straightforward to install and followed the directions This is a good solution. It was an outrageous price of $75, however. About $15 should be the price of this device.

Installing a transfer switch takes less time
5/5

The Cutler Hammer Panel needs this. I heard this was the one to get from my electrician friend. We had to cut it to make it work as it wasn't the right one. The most imposter part is that it works, and I could have made it myself for a lot less money. Make sure you research the one that is right for the.

An interlocking system that works very well
5/5

I think the cost of all of these interlocks is too high for what they deliver. I got the Cutler Hammer Interlock that did the job. It was of great quality and had outstanding service. Thanks to the vendor, I received the interlock promptly, and I am happy with it.
