Questions & Answers

Will it work with a fc40t5 circular lamp rated at 40 watts? thanks! ?

I can't say for certain. It doesn't appear to be mine in the least.

I purchased the F382D/835/4P bulb, but it did not resolve my issue. The ballast is a Type P 38 watt ballast, according to the label. Is this ballast going to function properly?

I believe the ballast will work with any circular fluorescent tube with a diameter of 16" or 12" and a power rating of 38 watts. The first characters of the tube you bought (F382D) are nearly identical to the Sunpark ballast's claim of compatibility (38w 2D). I'm assuming you've double-checked that the fixture is receiving 120 volts, but just to be sure. There isn't much else that could go wrong at this point. HTH

Is this compatible with a FCL 30 circular lamp?

It could, but it wasn't designed for that bulb, so it could reduce the lamp's or ballast's lifespan.

What gauge wire is used in the ballast?

It's either 12 or 14 gauge, which is common in 120V applications.

In my Hunter fan, it worked perfectly
5/5

In one of our Hunter fans, the circline light stopped working. It turned out that the problem was with the ballast, which was inexpensive and worked flawlessly. The bulb connector is standard and works fine; I had to splice the original ballast's 120V connector onto this one, and then it was plug and play. Because the wires were far too long for my application, I had to cut them before splicing. I can't say I blame the manufacturer for taking this extra step; the connector required varies depending on the application, and this isn't designed for any particular device.

Installation is simple and quick
5/5

My fluorescent circleline fixture, which I bought about 5 years ago, was intermittently working. Of course, I changed the bulb, but it didn't make a difference. The only other possibility for a cause was ballast. The old ballast was built into the fixture, but there was plenty of room for the Sunpark LC-100. 12014T. br>br>I placed an order for the Sunpark, which arrived two days later. Because the ballast was on the back side of the fixture, it had to be removed from the ceiling, but the old ballast came out easily to my surprise. After reinstalling the fixture to the ceiling and connecting the bulb, it worked right away after I used the ground wire screw to secure it and wired up the two AC input leads and ground wire. So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly.

For a kitchen light, you'll need a ballast
4/5

Because of its size, my kitchen light is difficult to work with, and I had replaced one of two ballasts several years ago. The original ballasts were Sunpark brand and specs, so I should've replaced both at the time. To replace the ballasts, the fixture must be taken down from the ceiling. The only criticism I have is that the black and white wires appear to be a few inches too short, making it difficult to connect them to ceiling wires. Aside from that, the light works once they're connected. The value for money is there.

To be perfect, you must outperform your competitors
5/5

After about 6 months of use, the ballast on my lovely GE Profile C arm lamp died. Because it was such a large item, the shipping to fulfill the warranty wasn't really worth it, and I would have gotten a replacement rather than a repair, which I prefer. Anyway, it remained in my possession for a few years, despite my mother's repeated requests that I discard it. I finally got around to contacting GE about replacing the ballast, but they said only the bulb could be replaced. Pshh. As if. I then attempted a repair by sawing open the ballast, but it was just as uninspiring (pun intended!). ) on the inside, as the veteran electronics forum members had predicted. So I cut the wires and installed a new ballast for 2D 38W lamps, the "Energy Savings Super Mini. " I was overjoyed at my achievement, only to be disappointed when I discovered that the ballast made a piercing whistle. I tried to ignore it, but it felt like my ears were being pierced with safety pins. br>After that, I got this ballast, which was a huge success! There was no whistle, but the lamp was lit. It does whistle for about 30 seconds when it first turns on, which I can hear if I put my ear right under the lampshade, but I can't hear it from a distance, and it vanishes quickly anyway, as I mentioned. It's also reasonably priced; I noticed that many of the GE 38W 2D ballasts I found online were quite expensive. It's worth noting that the Circline connector it's equipped with will fit 2D lamps but will not lock into place; As a result, I had to rewire it in order to install a genuine 2D lamp connector.

It was an exact match for the old ballast, but it failed after a year
3/5

I bought two of these to replace the ballasts in a ceiling light fixture that had two fluorescent tubes. They were the same ballasts that had burned out after several years of service, and installation was as simple as swapping them out. out. While reasonably priced, the total cost of two ballasts for an aging light fixture will almost certainly not be justified if they fail again. LED lighting fixtures are expected to improve and become more affordable in the near future. br>br>Follow-up-on-up-on-up-on-up-on-up-on-up-on 1/10/15 update: After only a year, one of the ballasts failed. I am extremely dissatisfied with the long-term results. Because of the high cost of replacement ballasts and fluorescent tubes, as well as frequent failures, I decided to replace the entire lighting fixture.

It was a success
5/5

I'm using it to protect my zippo. It was precisely what I was looking for. My zippo display case's ballast stopped working. This was an excellent substitute.

It did exactly what it said it would do
5/5

All I had to do was splice the ballast's wires into the wires of the existing connector and mount it in the light. It was a success.

Installation of a new ballast is a breeze
5/5

I was able to save $135 on a new light fixture as a result of your efforts! If you're handy, it's simple to set up! I used it to make an instant-on Circle Line bulb.
