LEDs that are both plug-in and play This was purchased to replace a noisy magnetic ballast that was previously used to power Feit 14w LED lights. Works at first, but then stops working and won't turn back on unless the lamps are removed and replaced. It's not a problem with the sample; a new ballast produced the same results. If you use a plug-in device, Use Sylvania/Osram or Advance (Philips) ballasts if you're using plug-and-play LEDs. br>As a side note, on the two samples I had, the country of origin was not indicated anywhere.
new 4- When the bulb in my kitchen's T8 fluorescent fixture suddenly stopped working, I was afraid I'd have to replace it. Not so! I found this replacement for my Espen VE432120MIP ballast online, and it was installed and the lights turned back on in fifteen minutes. All of the wires were the same color as the old ballast and were long enough to reach their destination. It was exactly the same size as the old ballast, and it screwed right into the metal tabs on the original fixture. I had a working light again for 10 of the cost and hassle of a new fixture. There is no humming or delay in turning on the light. Even with the four LED T8 tubes I have installed, it works.
T8 LED Bulbs are a great way to have some fun. This ballast was used to repair an existing four-wheel drive vehicle at a low cost. fixture with a fluorescent bulb Rather than replacing the tombstones and reburying the bodies, I decided to simply replace the ballast and the bulbs in the fixture instead of wiring it to accept direct-wire T8 LED bulbs. The light fixture can be found in my basement hobby room. Re- It would have cost about the same to wire it and get new tombstones (the unshunted kind that direct-wire LED bulbs require). It took about 30 minutes to complete the project from start to finish. The Amazon Basics T8 LED bulbs work perfectly with this electronic, "instant start" ballast. Happy.
Determine which replacement is the most appropriate. Power off is a great replacement! This was a great solution. I wasn't quite ready to replace the kitchen lighting yet, so I just replaced the ballast that had failed. I replaced all of the original fluorescent bulbs, as per usual, but the problem persisted. THEN, using a multimeter, I discovered the issue with the ballast yesterday. To safely replace the ballast, I removed the light from the ceiling; you'll need some small wire nuts to secure the numerous wires. However, it now functions flawlessly. Fortunately, after spending far too much money on this old fixture, I will be able to reuse it in the future. This is an excellent product.
I bought two of these ballasts, the first of which I had no problems with and which worked perfectly. My most recent one, on the other hand, completely failed shortly after the 30-day mark. The return window has now closed for the day. [UPDATE: Robertson's customer service was excellent, and they refunded my money even though it was past the Amazon return window, so I've changed my review to four stars because my first ballast worked perfectly. ]br>br>When I first installed it, I also installed four brand new, somewhat expensive Sylvania 32W T8 high CRI fluorescent bulbs because my old bulbs were quite dark on the ends. The installation went smoothly, and the light turned on, but all four bulbs had visible ripples and flickering. I figured it would just take a few days for the bulbs to warm up, so I left it on for a few days and didn't think much of it. Although there was still some flicker, it appeared to be getting better. br>br>Now fast forward to yesterday, when I turned on the light and nothing happened. I double-checked the breaker and the fixture for 120V and found power - It's just dead, with no sign of anyone attempting to turn on any of the lights. As a result, I'm left with yet another dead ballast and must seek out an alternative to Amazon's suggestion.
8 bulbs. In my four/four-light fixture, I swapped out two magnetic ballasts for one of these. What a difference drop ceiling lamps make. I looked up a detailed cross reference on Robertson's website. Instant on and near full brightness, quiet (though several of the bulbs take a minute to reach even light in the center - Although I don't have the same problem at work with the same bulbs, I'm not sure if it's a bulb or ballast issue). 20% power savings due to the use 32 watt rather than the 40 watt t- 12 bulbs. This was a colorless item. The size was perfect and the code was the same as the old magnetic ballast. br>br>FYI - Color accuracy is important to me, so I use the same Sylvania 6500K color spectrum bulb (whiter than sunlight) in my home workshop as I do in my print shop, but cool harsh light may not be to everyone's taste or purpose.
This is a replacement for the Espen VE432120MIP. My only complaint is that it's black, and I can see its dark shape through the cover, and I'm curious as to why a company would sell a black ballast for a light fixture (the Espen was white). That said, it works great and was simple to install, and I'm glad I didn't have to buy a completely new fixture. I cut the wires to the length of the old ballast's wires, which took less than an hour, including dismantling the fixture to make replacement easier. br>When I bought this ballast, I was more concerned with the positive reviews than with the color, but I only notice the dark shape when I look at it; my wife is unconcerned because she is relieved to have light in the kitchen once more. I considered purchasing a white Espen replacement, but one reviewer complained that some of the wires were too short.
This was purchased to replace a Universal Homestar B432I120RES-B432I120RES-B432I120RES-B432I120RES-B432 Ballast that had gone bad. I'd never done this before and didn't realize you have to cut the wires on your fixture and join them together with the wires on the ballast, so you'll need to buy wire nut caps if you don't already have any, but once I got it all put together and installed, it worked perfectly, so I'm very happy. I'm hoping it's of good quality and will last a long time, and I'm hoping they'll allow for updates so users can provide feedback on the product's quality and longevity.
