I went out and purchased a few more. They're well-designed and function just like the other Eve Homekit products I've bought. br>I'm a seasoned programmer who's worked on a variety of projects. Z- 10 Insteon, Z- 10 Insteon, Z-10 Insteon, Z Greetings, WiFi- Bluetooth LE products that are enabled. In every way, these, in my opinion, are superior.

- Security. If your WiFi devices aren't properly protected, they can put your entire network at risk. The doorbell from Ring was discovered to be sending audio to China. Many other wifi switches with unknown brands have been discovered to be sending data to China. They simply cannot do anything like that with Bluetooth LE.

- Energy. The Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices consume very little power. Eve's Weather Monitor has been running on AA batteries for over a year, and the batteries are still fully charged. This is done while using the Eve app to download data at regular intervals in order to create monitor graphs. WiFi-enabled devices use only a few watts of electricity. It's not a lot, but when you add it up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, it's a lot more.

- Reliability is important. For me, this is the most crucial aspect. Because I needed a 3-port WiFi switch, I tried Leviton's WiFi switch (DH15S). switch in both directions It would become unusable and go offline (as evidenced by the numerous complaints on Reddit and Amazon). Because we have four Apple TVs throughout the house, they are all within Bluetooth range. When turned on and off, they are extremely responsive, and they perform admirably. It wouldn't go back to factory settings, and turning off the power didn't help. I emailed customer service, and they responded in 15 minutes, asking for the model number, which I provided, and I never heard from them again after that. Thankfully, we were still within Amazon's refund window, so they took care of it. They really need to improve their customer service for $50 each, and it's ridiculous that they don't have a US-based phone number to call for support!br>br>**Update 2** I finally received a response from Eve. As previously stated, I emailed them with my problem and received no response. Finally, on May 8, they responded. I sent them an email on March 15 and received a response on May 8! I replied to that email, asking if they had a phone number I could call, and they confirmed on May 21 that they do not have a phone number. I don't usually write long reviews, but my experience with their customer service was so bad that I felt compelled to do so. If one of these fails, do yourself a favor and purchase the extended warranty, or you'll be waiting months for a replacement. Come on, Eve, it's 2019, don't you think she'll read this review? Customers should be able to reach you by phone if they have a problem! And if you're only going to provide customer service via email, don't take two months to respond! This is unacceptably bad. I originally gave these switches five stars, but I'm taking them down to two due to the worst customer service I've ever encountered in my life, and I'm in my forties.
