Spikes that stay in place! My vinyl shutters had some spikes that were broken, and I purchased these to replace them

The quality of the spikes is excellent, and I am very pleased with them. Their sturdy construction and excellent hold makes them very good. The easiest way to ensure you will have no trouble installing the new spikes is by drilling through your original mounting holes with a standard 1/4-inch drill bit to clear a path. If the original spikes are broken inside the mounting holes then you may have trouble removing the old spikes.

Installation should be done with care

After painting, I was looking for the pegs I needed for installing the shutters. Everything is exactly right in terms of diameter, length, and size. Make sure you are careful when installing. Its very easy to bend, so you really only get a chance at it once. It is nearly impossible to remove and reuse one. The best thing to do is to order more than you think you will need, as some bend during installation is normal.

The good news is that I only needed to replace a couple of the shudders on the house with these. Measurements are important, so pay attention to them. If you need a certain length, be sure to order it. Surface is flat, so it's no problem to go through siding before hitting wood. You want to make sure that the length is the right one.

Plastic is easy to bend since it is soft

The plastic was soft and bendable, so it was easy to bend. Since my siding is brick, I have to use a bit more force to push it Despite a gentle tap, these pegs will not withstand any stress from the side. When I still had the chance to return them, I would have had a chance to know.
