Questions & Answers

It would be helpful if you could instruct me how to use the staples and spring. Does one side of the shutter have to be removed if the other side is fine? What are the ways to hook it up?

Prying out the broken pin will be necessary if the plastic pins are nylon. First put the large end of the replacement pin into the hole in the stile, following with the small end. Using a knife blade, push the spring loaded small end back into the large head. Ensure that the pin snaps into the hole in the end of the louver by setting the louver in place. Attached to the louver is a staple that holds the tilt bar in place. Put a drop of super glue on the staple legs on the louver and using needle nose pliers push the staple into the holes of the tilt bar or louver. If the staple does not go through the tilt bar, you can use a thumb nail. In order for the replacement pin to snap into the end of the louver, you will need to drill a hole in the end of the shutter if your shutter has wood pins.

All is well
5/5

Obviously I did not need the latches and catches, but just the staples are hard to find. But these work fine. They're long enough that you can hold them around your wrist with a pair of long-armed gloves Using needle-nose pliers, insert the stick back in (this time with glue).

The shutters on every window of our house are over 10 years old, so it's a good kit to have
5/5

It was difficult to locate replacement staples locally when some of the staples stuck out. It was a nightmare trying to correctly fit staples made for a staple gun, and even though I finally got them to work, I had a lot of trouble fitting them properly. In this kit you find the staples to be perfect and the shutter pins to While it was difficult to replace the staples because my hands could not fit inside the available space between the shutters, I did my best to do it. Here's what's new An old pin was damaged on my bathroom shutter, so I had to replace it. Very happy with how it fits, the installation was easy, and I highly recommend it.

This repair kit for Plantation Shutters includes all of the materials you need
4/5

As far as I can tell, the staples and plungers (for the shutter axis) work fine. They arrived promptly and There is just one thing I wish they could do better easy installation. A few of the youtube videos I watched There were lots of Youtube videos, but they didn't seem to Using a drill to repair the plungers was necessary- To get the old severed units out of the hole, a motor is used. The process of installing a replacement staple can be challenging. searched for an installation tool but could not find one. I found the kit to be perfect in every way. As a result of my frustration, one star was taken away. That would be very helpful if the supplier included a sheet with written instructions.

It's time to bring the old back into fashion! An ugly problem appears to have a simple fix
5/5

A carpet installer broke 7 shutter blades in two of the rooms while installing carpet. So I am not surprised at the age of my shutters, which are almost 40 years old. It was only a matter of removing the old pins that caused me any difficulty. The old plastic was glued into place, and I found that using a drill to gently drill the old plastic out was the best and easiest way to eliminate it. At the ripe old age of 40 or so, they probably will look great for another 40 or so years.

Deliveries of half the order have been made
3/5

Originally, this was supposed to be pins & needles A staple. Those staples didn't come with me. There is no problem with the pins. If you only get half of what you pay for, that's not a good trade-in value. I'm now being asked to return the entire order and refund my money A portion of the order did not arrive.

We repaired broken plantation shutters
5/5

My plantation shutters weren't in good shape when I bought a house. A new shutter plank was purchased elsewhere, cut to length, painted, and shutter pins were installed. The condition is good Due to the difficulty of using staples, I ended up using eyelet hooks instead. It is a good idea to do so. The staples are easier to remove than the cable ties. There will be no difference between the two.

It is easy to follow the Obviously it can't fix cracked or split wood, but it did fix the louvre back in place and make it functional once.
