Originally installed on the 1947 house, these shutters replaced the older (I assume) original shutters. We barely hung onto the old shutters as they were suffering from dry rot. Thanks to new paint and the help of our contractors, the house looks great and feels like a house from the past.

They are of excellent quality. It is very accurate to mill the parts, and they are assembled very tightly. Despite my self-restraint, I would rate these shutters a 5 out of 5 because the stock could be a little heavier and one slat is a little bent (out of four shutters), but they are a decent product. They get 4 out of 5 from me. As a result, I would rate this as five stars.

After sanding the boards, I went over them with a 180 grit block to remove any "hairs" that was left on them. Then I sprayed a spray oil primer on them, and they turned out wonderfully. The products are excellent, and the quality of wood products is very important to me. There are 8 shutters we purchased in all, and all are in great condition.
