These aren't all that To install them, you need to drill and screw the screws in all four corners of the shutter. There needs to be an internal frame for this shutter! It would make the shutters more durable AND could be installed with hinge brackets since it would have an internal frame. A frame installed or attached within the shutter may inhibit its operation Whether it would bend or twist when handled or installed is unknown, so I wonder what its durability would be like. As a result, it could be mounted on the actual "structure" of a door. If this mechanism were implemented all four corners of every shutter could be covered with screws without having to drill into their faces AND thus no holes would have to be drilled into the faces of every shutter once they were installed You wouldn't need to drill 8 holes in your siding for each window or screw 4 screws into your exterior siding for each shutter. When the shutters are installed, do you want to see four screws on the front face of each one? I suppose some people don't mind having holes cut in their exterior siding to check out the surface hardware. If an internal frame is installed, then ALL of these gripe points could be corrected. To prepare for possible leakage from directional rain, I poured a ball of silicone caulk into each tap hole prior to installing the shutter. What you pay for is what you get A good place to buy these is at a bargain price They are clearly looking at it close up. There is no reason for them to look poorly made, but It's obvious that they're not good at what they do Most people would not mistake these for real wood they are made of plastic. It's true that most people wouldn't be able to notice that level of detail unless they were perfectionists or had shutter experience. As long as these are all your budget will allow, you are good to go!.

You just have to know what you're getting into when you buy You can screw these down and they will bend to the shape of your house when you screw them down. There are no perfectly flat parts on the steel siding, so when screwing these in, there needs to be a small gap to prevent them from distorting. They seem to work fine all in all It probably would have been better to epoxie some plywood, or maybe even plastic rod, to the inside back of these to stiffen them so they wouldn't bend, but the result still turned out very nice without any stiffening.

There are two windows next to each other that will be outfitted with shutters. When I started measuring things I discovered that the shutters are actually 12 3/16" to 12 1/4" wide at the mounting surface (see attached photo). The space between these window frames is almost exactly 24", maybe 24 1/8". While I can make them work, it will require a lot more creative thinking and engineering than I I already have 15" shutters mounted on another window, so that is not a problem for me. Putting the paint on and installing it was fairly straightforward The design is great, and they look terrific. I have updated It took me a while to finish the two windows adjacent to each other. The show is up and they look good, even though it took some creativity to get them there. The photo shows how to do this.
