Check the slots' alignment to make sure they're both pointing in the right direction for a portrait or landscape orientation.

After installing vertical units, I bought these horizontal units to fill in the gaps. The stamping would appear to be aligned between the horizontal and vertical units, but that is not the case. The holes come first in the horizontal units, while the slots come first in the vertical units. As a result, you'll have sections that aren't aligned. In fact, the vertical units' spacing is off, making it impossible to span a bracket between two sections. A little layout tinkering would make the system more adaptable. Despite my disappointment with the layout, the material's strength and vertical slots are appealing. If I could do it all over again, I would buy a metal pegboard from Home Depot with standard holes and save some money and time.
Due to age and the humidity in South Texas, my standard particle board pegboard was starting to deteriorate. My friend had similar issues and had to replace his with a lightweight aluminum board, but you can't put more than one heavy tool (e. g. , a hammer) on it. without putting too much strain on the plate (chain saw) br>br>I bought a steel peg board from Wall Control for the same price and I love it. This stuff is going to last longer than your house. Although they sell a variety of hooks and attachments - every plate of Wall Control comes with screws and anchors, so there's no guessing on the size and you have the freedom to place the plates wherever you want rather than just the studs. Many of them are useful and one-of-a-kind – Beware of a couple of other metal pegboard purveyors who will sell you their plates for a low price but will only fit proprietary hooks and attachments that are more expensive. br>br>When selecting plates for a garage wall or large workshop, the vast majority are 16" x 32" for stud alignment, but due to the direction of the security slits, their orientation (horizontal vs vertical) is not interchangeable. So sketch out your layout and count how many plates of each orientation you'll need (they may appear identical on Amazon pages, but the item title/description will say "horizontal" or "vertical"). br>br>In addition to their strength, metal pegboard has an undeniable aesthetic appeal, as it is professional in appearance and has a certain "curb appeal. " I'm not saying it'll increase the value of your home significantly, but it will leave an impression on any male and possibly female potential buyers. I'm taking mine with me if I ever move!.
As others have pointed out, the mounting holes for this product are not 16" on center, which makes it extremely difficult to install. Yes, drywall anchors are available, but if you're hanging a few pounds of tools from a galvanized metal board, you're probably not using them. You're putting up heavy items that will rip the drywall apart. The boards are made of stamped metal, which explains why the holes are positioned as they are (to save money) - However, it would be much better if they had something protruding beyond the 16" width (in addition) to allow for 16" OC mounting. If the tiles interlocked nicely when tiled across a wall, you get bonus points.
Excellent product, but they sent me blue instead of black when I ordered black. I don't have time to return them, so I'll have to deal with it. However, the functionality is excellent, and I plan to purchase two more in the future. I'm just hoping I order the correct color the first time so the next two will match.
I originally put this up to hold my pans, but I was so taken with the look that I decided to use it for my kitchen backsplash. Unfortunately, unlike an electrical outlet, they cannot be cut to fit. I'm extremely dissatisfied, but the manufacturer was fantastic! Despite telling me that cutting them would void the warranty and that they couldn't recommend cutting them, they sent me links to help me figure out what I could do. Because I'm not very handy, I'm afraid I'll have to return them.

I used to have a pvc system, which eventually warped due to too much weight. This system appears to be more durable than I am. br>br>I chose the steel look over the painted look because it helps reflect the light in the work area. br>All of the hardware was included, including sheetrock anchors, and the mounting hardware's sturdiness matched that of the wall board. br>br>I ordered multiple accessory packages for hanging tools from the same manufacturer and was able to supplement those items with regular peg board hooks as needed, but I prefer the accessories that are meant for this system. br>br>If you're looking for a cost-effective and long-lasting organization system for your store or storage area, look no further.
Make certain you understand what you're ordering before you place your order. There are some differences between the panels. I made the mistake of ordering a kit with extra hardware and then adding a three-panel order, only to discover that the wall control slots run vertically and horizontally. So far, I've got three panels that only fit peg board accessories and three panels that fit both wall control and peg board accessories. If you want to hit studs, the installation is no joke, as the mounting holes span 16"o. However, not every location will suit your needs. Also, if your panels aren't perfectly straight (let's face it, every house is crooked), shelves and brackets won't fit in the slots that cross the panels. In retrospect, I think having some panels for peg board accessories is a good idea because they are less expensive than Wall Control accessories. If you want all Wall Control accounts, don't make the same mistakes I did. If you hit studs, give it a five-star rating for sturdiness. br>br>Out.
