Siding and wood are the only materials through which the screws will penetrate. If you need fasteners for anything else, you will need to get them. My siding did not crack during freezing weather but if freezing weather is forecast, it may be best to pre-finish the siding before it freezes You are drilling
There is no mount that will meet your needs with this item.
The mount will probably measure between 6 and 7 inches wide, so 3 to 34 inches across is the size I expect The lap should have a clearance of 1/2 inch above and below it. (This should fit a 5 inch
Despite the notch, it doesn't look like it would be ideal to attach it to vinyl soffit because it's supposed to provide a flat surface area on which to mount it. However, they do manufacture this product without the notch, which may be useful if you'd like to do so on your soffit. The one I ordered is missing the notch. I believe I purchased it directly from Arlington's website.

A simple installation of my Ring Floodlight was made possible with this mount. I am able to mount my floodlight on a perfectly level surface, instead of hardiplank slanted by the angle of the roof. This plug-in box also has an electrical box for the wires, but it is the most important feature. I thought the picture listing the lap to decide what size to use is confusing. If you don't mind me saying, the picture listing the lap is confusing. In order for you to understand what to purchase, you will need to measure the depth of the lumber you are mounting on, and match it. Here are some examples In my case the 1/4 inch model was required since my hardiplank boards were 1/4 inch thick.
It was important for me to find a mounting option that allowed me to place an object while on the wall.
A solid & sturdy base You've done a good job. The Arlington Industries 8131-C is exactly what we needed and we're very happy with it The 8131 Wall Plate is 1/4-inch wide One-half inch or five-sixteenths of an inch Siding & flooring of inch We chose white shingles for our siding because they went perfectly with it. It would have been nice to have a two-gang outlet box, but that product was not available (only single-gang), so we made it from wood instead. If the wall plates had matched, it would have been neat.
With this plate, I was able to mount my outside sconces without having to cut a hole in my shingles to ensure they were level, or to install what is called a junction box to hold the sconces. As long as you have the hardware and hardware connectors on hand, this plate will slide neatly onto your typical cedar shingles. It won't come lose any time soon, so I don't worry about it. My sconce was installed after everything was wired and ready, so I put a small bead of caulk around the edges, filled the hole where the wire came out of the house, and caulked it. My installation was very easy, I love how it looks and it looks like it was done by a professional! In the process of updating/adding lighting to the exterior of my house, I plan to buy more of these.
The price difference between this and a traditional junction box is worth the extra cost. You can use this over 5/16" lap siding, and it has a UL-listed junction box, so the only thing you need to do is drill a hole through the exterior wall to feed your wiring to it. That looks great, too.
There was a 1/2 model at the local hardware store, and I was going to buy it there. Thanks to Amazon, we have everything we need. The siding on my house is 1/4" or 5/16" thick, so this one fits my siding perfectly. In addition to the white mount, there are three center holes where you can route wires through. I didn't paint it because the fluid light I bought with it is also white. Different mounting configurations can be used with the holes on the unit. I love how it looks right above my garage door with my fluid light. Once the mount has been installed, you should caulk around all edges of the mount.
There is little to say about this product it is well made and fits comfortably over the Providing a side. There are more to come for other lights as well.
Uses the 4 1/2-inch Hardi Plank cement siding. It is well made. Install with no gaps for a professional look. A motion sensor light is installed over my garage or driveway. A friend would be recommended by me.
