Cracked? The ones that aren't cracked should work fine, but half of them have a crack in the base and are therefore useless

It's a good deal for the money. They were used to cover studs in concrete prior to the installation of columns. When the box is first opened, mentioning that they are used in the description may help to alleviate some hostility. It would be advantageous to clean them prior to shipping. To save a worker from an impending injury is still a great value. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. If they had been cleaned, it would have been a five-star experience.

Used? These are supposed to be brand new and sold by Amazon, but they are covered in what appears to be cement residue

I'm guessing an exchange won't help because others have had the same issue. After I informed Amazon of the problem, they offered me a discount. Except for the residue, they appear to be in good shape.
