I'm not sure; I'm making garden stepping stones, so I'm not using much pigment. To about 10 lbs. of pigment, add 1/2 cup. Concrete that sets quickly. If I want it to be darker, I'll add more pigment color.
This is a high-quality concrete pigment made in the United States (by Devis Colors). Concrete hearth coloring shouldn't be a problem for you.

The non-shiny picture is what it looks like after a clear epoxy coat, while the shinny image is what it looks like after a clear epoxy coat. 67" long by 27" wide by 2" tall, two bags were used, and the result was fantastic, much darker than expected.
750ml of plaster was turned a deep black by two corners of a putty knife (grams, really). Any spills left black footprints, smears, and other nastiness all over the epoxy floor in my shop. Even a single grain spilled creates a messy situation that is difficult to clean up. br>br>It works well, but you must treat this material as if it were radioactive waste; a single spill will take an eternity to clean up. Love it!.
The gray balls in the photo are the result of mixing liquid black with regular Portland gray cement. They were never completely black. even if it meant using the whole bottle br>br>The black ones are made of supra black (again, standard Portland Gray Cement) and have a good color retention. br>br>There is one caveat: If your water is line mine (high in calcium), use pure water instead; otherwise, the minerals will rise to the surface of the cement, resulting in gray.
I mixed 1 bag of tint with 3 bags of concrete mix for my counters, and they turned out great. They did dry a little dull, which is to be expected, so I used Tuff Duck concrete counter top sealer to bring the color back to life and add the shine I wanted. This is a product I would strongly recommend.
This was perfectly milled and simple to blend in with my other waxes if necessary. I had no problems with it on its own (including my encaustic wax recipe) and found it to be a brighter, thicker white than the ready-made waxes on the market. I'm confident that this will work well in acrylic and oil mediums. I am very pleased with the price and the speed with which it was delivered. Will purchase more and look forward to experimenting with the other colors they offer. You did an excellent job!.
So I mixed half a pound of cement with 15 pounds of cement and got the same gray as before. It didn't make much of a difference in terms of color.
I used this powder to color some Portland lime mortar and it turned out great. I wanted to do a German smear on the outside of my house, but I wanted it to be white, so I used a moderate amount. It's worth noting that the mortar lime I used wasn't black. It was a light grey color.
I'm impressed, and I'll be buying more from this company in the future! This company, as well as these concrete colorants, are highly recommended!.
