Questions & Answers

Do you have a product that has a longer shelf life?

A high-quality, high-solids Silane-based product can last up to ten years. Water-repellent sealant made of siloxane. Any good water repellent is supposed to last for at least that long. Silicate sealers, such as the Armor S2000 or Armor L3000, are the only type of sealer that lasts longer. Silicate sealers react chemically within the pores to form a calcium silicate hydrate barrier, which reduces the size of the pores and thus increases the strength and density. Only by removing the concrete itself can the calcium silicate hydrate be removed. Silicate sealers, on the other hand, do not cause water or other liquids to bead off the surface. The only advantage of using a silicate sealer is that it improves the strength and density of the material.

Will Radon gas be reduced as a result of this?

This is a sealant for pavers and other similar surfaces. Radon Gas: No, you'll most likely need to consult with a contractor.

What is the shelf life of this product after it has been opened, and when must the remaining product be used?

The SX5000WB should last at least a year if stored at room temperature. It's not unusual for a product to be usable for another two years or more.

I'm looking for a matte finish that's natural. To put it another way, there isn't a wet appearance. Is there a gloss or a wet look to this?

Looks like there's no gloss. When it's dry, it looks exactly like it did when it was first applied. When it rains, there are puddles in some areas. It was exactly the look I was going for in my pool area.

It's simple to use and it does exactly what it says it will
4/5

My house is 20 years old, and the driveway is long and steep. Regrettably, previous owners used chemical de-icing agents. icers on the concrete, resulting in a significant amount of spalling (also known as scaling). My home inspector suggested a commercially available sealer that you can find at any big box home improvement store, but the reviews on it, and others like it, weren't encouraging (he suggested Thompson's). I received a credit to replace the driveway, but I wanted to put it off for a few years, but I also wanted to slow down the process, so I did some research and found that this type of sealer was by far the best and lasted the longest. br>br>I bought a five gallon container, which was more than enough to cover my driveway and sidewalk. To prevent any of the ingredients from separating during storage, I rolled it and turned it upside down to mix it up a bit. The fact that the container has a pouring spout that can be pulled out was very appealing to me. It was a completely drip-free experience. br>br>I used a two-gallon pump sprayer that I normally use for gardening. The sealer is white on the outside, but clear on the inside. Because it has a consistency similar to water, my sprayer had no trouble dispersing it. It was incredibly simple to apply, and I was able to cover all five gallons in about 30 minutes. The time limit is 40 minutes. br>br>I tested a section of the driveway before applying the sealer by pouring a cup of water on it. The concrete absorbed almost the entire amount of water. I had some runoff, but I believe it was due to my pouring too quickly for the concrete to absorb it. I tested the same spot the next day after applying the sealer and found no absorption. I was surprised, so I ran the test again in a few other places and got the same results. Will it still be able to do so in seven to ten years? I have no idea, but I have no doubt that it will significantly slow down the spalling that I'm seeing in my driveway because water won't be able to penetrate, freeze, and thaw the concrete, causing it to break apart. br>br>I should also mention that you'd never know I used a sealer on the driveway. I do, however, have a few dark spots. The contraction/control joints are the most common locations for these. It appears to be in good condition, but it stands out.

The product is easy to apply and dries to a clear finish
5/5

The 5-gallon Foundation Armor arrived a few days after the order was placed on 6- I used a pressure washer to clean the pavers, then sanded the joints, swept the area thoroughly, and waited 24 hours before applying the sealant to allow the pavers to dry. On Saturday morning, I called the tech (phone number on container) with a question about when to apply the second coat, and he responded within an hour, which was extremely helpful. br>(basically, the second coat can be applied after the first coat has been completed. ) I transferred Foundation Armor to a Chapin sprayer using a siphon. The sprayer made the job much easier and the siphon prevented spills. The product is easy to apply and dries to a clear, matte finish as advertised, and it does not make the surface slippery, which is important to me. My primary criterion for determining the product's worth will be how well it reduces dirt and mildew over time.

Great product with a convenient pouring spout and easy cleanup! I really like the end result! The product came in a heavy-duty box with handles cut out of the sides, making it super easy to pick up and move to the garage
5/5

I prepped the driveway as directed and used a sprayer to apply the sealer. It was a breeze to put on and take down. I really like the bucket's pour spout because it made pouring into the sprayer a breeze. I finished two coats with a 24-hour gap between them. After 48 hours, it rained, and the concrete looks fantastic! Wet concrete appears to have dried more quickly after being sealed. This product will be purchased again to finish the patio and front sidewalk leading to the porch. I've also included two photos of my driveway and that of my neighbor. Same preparation, same size, same slope, same exposure, and same day with the same amount of rain. Despite the fact that they sealed their drive several months ago, they used a different sealer brand from Lowe's or Home Depot, and the difference is quite noticeable.

Excellent product! It arrived in excellent condition
5/5

It arrived a few days after I placed my order. We sprayed it on with a garden sprayer, doing a section at a time, then going back and rolling any puddles and making sure it was even and soaked in. It took a little while for it to sink in, but the concrete driveway is only ten months old. I've included photos of how it looks after you've sprayed it on. After a couple of hours, it dries clear and there's no trace of it on the driveway. On the driveway, we used all five gallons. When the sprinklers are turned on, the driveway no longer appears to be wet; instead, it beads up and runs away. I'm very pleased with the product, and I'm hoping it will last for another seven years!.

Sealant is of good quality and good value
5/5

I am extremely happy. Applied to a new concrete floor in our 900 sq. ft. Pole Barn. ft. I applied it with a roller with an extension handle, which seemed to work well because you could roll over to distribute evenly and then roll to disperse bubbles as it penetrated. I worked in 10' square sections so that I could apply half of the section, then the other half, and then return to the first half's rollout bubbles. Be aware that new concrete does not immediately soak into the flooring; it appears to sit on the surface and absorb slowly, so you will need to brush or roll over it several times as it absorbs. At first, the product appears to be thin, but once you start using it, you'll notice the difference in application - If you used a sprayer, I'm sure that would be even more true. I didn't notice in their instructions that a second coat should be applied "wet to wet," so I called to ask how a second coat could be applied if the first had already set. They were extremely helpful in terms of explanation. br>br>Haven't had a chance to put sealant quality to the test yet, but it seems to be holding up well. br>br>It's been 7 weeks, and we're very happy with the performance on our concrete flooring in the pole barn shop. I would recommend this product and plan to use it on our new home after it is completed. Thank you for your support, Foundation Armor.
