Questions & Answers

Is it safe to use on wood that has already been finished?

That isn't one of the types listed, but I've used it on a variety of surfaces, including finished wood from a store purchase. I haven't tried it on any of the wood I've finished myself. I'd say it'll be fine if it's well-dried and not humid, and if the finished wood was re-finished. If you're painting on one side, make sure the new and old don't clash. Overall, however, the tape adheres well to the surface but is easily removed. Also, don't leave the tape on any painted surface for longer than necessary. I hope this helps; I wanted to help, but I haven't tried it on freshly painted finished wood yet.

What is the best width for crafts?

If the inch tape is not wide enough for your project, you can always cut it to the desired width.

Is it blue or does it have writing on it?

It's blue, but it's printed with words.

I'm curious about the origins of this product. ?

I believe it is from the United States of America.

It's a waste of money and time
3/5

It should not be used on walls or woodwork! I used standard Scotch Blue Tape for the superior border of the crown molding, and it was still holding strong after three days! Despite applying pressure in the hopes of getting the ScotchBlue Sgarp lines to stick, it was falling apart after less than 15 minutes. While this tape may be useful in some situations, it should not be used to paint walls or woodwork. If it ever existed, it would have gotten a Zero Star rating because it is completely useless! Because it removes itself, I gave it a five-star rating for ease of removal.

It is not authentic
3/5

I'm a painter who does a lot of work. Tape is one of the products that has made the most progress in recent years. This tape does not perform as well as the tape I purchased at a traditional retail store. When I pulled it off the spool, it ripped, and when I turned around to put it on a clean surface, it was dangling. I'm not sure if it's old or if it's a fake. However, I am well aware that it is a waste of both time and money.

I was let down
3/5

I recently used an old roll of "original" 3M blue tape (2090) to mask rubber tires while painting white lettering on them. It stayed in place perfectly, with no bleed through. I then used this tape to cover it with a protective piece of brown paper, but it won't stick to either the brown paper or the tire; I'm not sure if the formula has changed or what, but I wouldn't trust this to make a "sharp line" on anything. Multi-surface deception is also a total fabrication. Try to locate the original 2090 formula instead. I'd say I just bought a $6 roll of tape to wrap gifts with, but I'm not sure that would hold up. It receives a five-star rating for "ease of removal" because it literally unsticks itself. Junk.

This isn't going to last long

I bought this tape to use on our painted walls while we were having our house remodeled. If I could, I'd give the adhesive a lower rating than one star. br>br>If I could, I'd give it a lower rating than one star. I masked an entire room and returned a few hours later to find that half of the plastic had fallen off the walls and cabinets. (I cleaned the surface first to ensure that it was clean. ).

It's not going to stick
3/5

I've used some of the worst painters tape in my life. I was ecstatic because it was on sale, Scotch brand, and a large roll. This, on the other hand, does not follow any rules. If you leave it for five minutes, it begins to fall off and roll up. When it doesn't stick to anything, it's impossible to draw sharp lines.

For any type of painting, this is an absolute must-have
5/5

I do a lot of painting because my family owns rental properties, and I enjoy working on them, so I have to say that this tape is fantastic. Normally, I use the generic blue painters tape from Home Depot, which works fine, but I needed something more than "okay" for this project. I was repainting my car's quarter panel and needed something that would cut really clean lines, so I decided to try this brand. The tape sat flat, didn't lift on its own, didn't let any paint through, and was easily removed without ripping. This painters tape was perfect for the job.

It does exactly what it says
5/5

So far, I've used four rolls of this tape and have had good results with minimal bleed through. I've noticed that bleed through occurs in areas where I didn't press down hard enough on the tape's edge, or if I forgot to tape a section and taped it right before painting. However, there is very little bleed through this time. To create a good seal, I believe the tape should be left on the surface for a few minutes. I usually tape a day or two ahead of time and then paint. I'm also using Sherwin Williams paint, which could explain why there's so little bleed through. Not sure. My walls, ceiling, and trim all hold up well to the tape. I like the width because it keeps the paint from splattering on my ceiling if I roll too close.

Never again, please! This tape still had adhesion issues after cleaning (yes, I used a good cleaning agent AND rinsed with water) and waiting overnight for the baseboards to dry
3/5

I've now wasted an entire day due to this shoddy product, and I'm never going to buy anything from this company again!.
