Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this to paint a car with?

Yes, it is possible. You must ensure that it is completely flat (with no gaps) on the surface you are covering. You'll get bleed-out if you don't. through.

Is it safe to use on fabric with this product?

I haven't tried it on fabric, but it hasn't left any residue on anything else I've tried it on. It should be fine, in my opinion.

I'd like to use it for a variety of art projects. Is it possible to remove this without tearing water-based papers?

Perform all tests on a small section of the paper that you're concerned about with the tape. There is no lettering on the tape.

Not at all like the picture! This product, plain blue tape, had a lot of photos, so I went through them all
3/5

The roll that was delivered was completely covered in logos and words. It's mostly useless to me because I use it to label things. I guess I'll just go to the hardware store and buy some to double-check that what I see is what I get. It's fine if you don't mind the writing.

This tape is incredible! This tape should not be purchased! It doesn't stick to anything, including itself
5/5

This was by far the worst tape I'd ever heard. br>It's time to make a change! br>I received replacement tape after speaking with a customer service representative. This is an incredible new tape! It's running like a well-oiled machine. The tape adheres to the surface and performs as expected. The other tape turned out to be an old roll, as it turned out. I'd like to express my gratitude for their excellent customer service and retract my previous negative review.

Are you dissatisfied with the new and improved tape? I bought this in February 2020 and used it as a window trim; it worked well, but I couldn't figure out why it had printing on it
3/5

I had never done anything like this before. Trimmed around the door and stairs in April. It had been a nightmare. After it was placed, it peeled back. When I finally got some pieces to stick, they wouldn't come off and ripped as I tried to remove them. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with Scotch Blue Tape. Because it had the writing on it, I went back to see if it was an imitation tape. I would have chosen the Scotch PLAIN Blue, which I always use, if I had read the reviews. I suppose I'll have to pay closer attention to the reviews.

This is not a sticky situation
3/5

I understand that painters tape isn't supposed to stick like glue, but it should adhere to the surface in some way. Enough to keep a firm grip on the ground. However, it is only able to do so on a very limited basis. br>br>All I'm doing is masking the chair rail and window molding in preparation for painting. Although the surfaces have been cleaned and dried, the wood has been stained rather than painted. However, it is unlikely to make a significant difference. However, I had to go over it again to get it down, and even then, some of it didn't stick. It reappeared with a vengeance. br>br>Perhaps I got the wrong tape, but the last time I used blue tape on wood it worked fine; I'm not worried about it because I can paint cones off stained wood with the right stuff, but I didn't want to use acetone.

I really enjoy it
5/5

Painter's tape was a gift from my remodelers. I frequently use it to post/ display signs around the house (I frequently host events with strangers from the internet). My most recent project entailed using a blacklight to locate areas where a visiting cat had sprayed (tape the borders, then Nature's Miracle, then Electrolyx carpet clean). I haven't had it pull off my paint yet, but (1) a competitor's brand, in yellow, did bleed through the color of a blue Sharpie after being left up for several months, and (2) the backing became quite sticky during my tape-down process. the- Natures- Week of the Miracle Carpet (both of which are off-the-beaten-path) Uses for the product are listed on the label). I prefer NAME BRAND versions, based on my and other reviewers' experiences.

Labeling freezer containers with this method is also a great idea
5/5

Instead of using it as painter's tape, I use it to label plastic freezer containers. If you put the label on when the item is at room temperature, it won't stick as well, but if you do, it will stay on until you're ready to put the container back in the dishwasher.

Very dissatisfactory; I will never buy from this company again
3/5

We've been painting our house room by room for the past two years, so we've used a lot of tape and I've gotten pretty good at using it (I take my time, press down firmly to ensure it sticks, seal the edges with a brush before using the roller, and so on). I bought this a couple of months ago and used it to decorate my daughter's room. It stuck fine, but there was some minor bleeding here and there, and it tore a lot when I took it off the next day after painting. I had some left on the roll, so I took it out to put it to good use in another room. The surface has been cleaned and washed (approximately one month ago). It went on the baseboards, around the edges of the doors, some already painted surfaces, and unpainted drywall. It peeled off the painted surfaces and the wood around the doorway almost as quickly as it had appeared. I wasn't very careful pulling it off because it was so loose on the painted surfaces, and lo and behold, it tore off a lot of paint. It adhered well to the drywall and baseboards. I'll have to go over everything again. Much of what was done was captured on videotape. I'm not pleased, and I'll look for a different brand.
