As you can see, the Scotch Blue Painter's tape (bottom box) that I ran out of worked perfectly and has stayed put for months. This new tape didn't even last two hours! I understand it's not packing tape, but why is there such a difference in quality? If it's this low quality, I wouldn't use it for painting trim, either. Paint would seep through the tape and cause a smear. I was let down.
It performs better than some of the other products I've tried. Removal is much easier within a week or so of painting, leaving clean lines. If left for long periods of time, especially in exterior jobs, I've discovered that it's more difficult to remove, with more residue left behind. in full sunlight That is something to keep in mind. br>I used this when caulking, and then removed it right away to get clean lines. That was a good solution.
This tape didn't meet my expectations. I'm not sure what "advanced multi-dimensional analysis" means. This tape, however, is just regular blue painter's tape with a lot of product spelling on the non-sticky side. I'll be using regular blue tape from now on because it works better. In terms of edge sealing, this tape was no better than the others. It also appeared to be thinner and to be tearing at inconvenient times. When removing it after painting, it ripped down the middle or left extremely thin strips that were difficult to remove. Don't be fooled by the hype; just use regular blue tape instead.
This tape performs just as well as any other painters tape. It was taped down for eight days with three coats of primer/paint and 98% removed with a perfectly clean edge with no bleeding and removed with a perfectly clean edge with% br>br>There are three small spots where the tape has stripped the paint back to the primer. Five minutes of touch-up work will be required. It's aggravating, but it's a fact of life. I was hoping for a flawless tape because it was supposed to be down for two weeks. It's not quite there, but it's still a fantastic painters tape.
My only criticism is that removing it from the roll requires extreme caution. It's quite easy to shred. It could use a little more thickness.
I like painter's tape, but I mostly use it to label things, and the brand name was printed all over the roll.
Tears easily from the roll and can be easily removed from places like uneven toilet seats even after a few months. br>The bright color makes it easy to mark areas where you should keep an eye on your step anywhere in the house.
This tape acted as if it had spent years in a hot garage. It was stuck together, nearly impossible to unroll, and any corner that was pried up would immediately tear into a sliver.
