Canson XL Bristol is the name of the company. Depending on where you look, they're rated anywhere between 90 and 100. 100 lb. The paper used in these tiles is smoother than that used in standard Zentangle tiles.

They're zentangle tiles made out of paper.
"Canson XL Bristol," reads the package label. " They also have a silky feel to them." The surface has suited me well. However, I purchased the 4 1/2" tiles because I thought they would be a better value, but they are much larger to fill than I anticipated. I hope you have found this information useful.

I wasn't expecting these to be like the "official" Zentangle tiles, but they were exactly what I expected. However, I've come across a few people on Facebook who assumed these were just a slightly larger version of the official tiles and were disappointed to find out they weren't made of the same paper as the standard 3 12" square tikes. These two pieces of paper are not the same. This is a Bristol board card stock with a smooth finish. The size and paper are actually more appealing to me than the standard Zentangle tiles.
These tiles are Zentangle Apprentice tiles, meaning they are four in number. Instead of 3, you'll get 5 inches. Although the material is not the same as that used in traditional Zentangle tiles, it is still of excellent quality. I'm also grateful for the fact that I got 140 of these tiles. br>br>The extra inch gives me plenty of room to practice my tangles, and it's also ideal for beginners and kids. When it comes to shading tangles, graphite lays and blends well on the surface. br>br>While Zentangle is the intended application, the tiles can be used in a variety of ways. Your imagination is the only limit. I enjoy drawing small scenic illustrations and practicing Celtic Knotwork patterns on them. You can use them for anything that would normally require high-quality paper. br>br>I haven't tried my TomBow dual brush pens on these yet, but I've used graphite, charcoal, Sakura Micron pens, graphic pens, and other similar pens without bleedthrough or other common paper type issues. br>br>I really enjoy using these, and I think the adult or child artist in your family will as well. br>br>I wish the photos I took had better lighting, but they'll have to suffice.
Sakura products are legendary for their quality, and this one is no exception. The kit includes everything you'll need to get started creating beautiful white on black zentangles right away. I first learned about kit when I came across a video on YouTube featuring Molli Hollibaugh, a certified zentangle teacher. You should watch her videos, in my opinion. She is an outstanding educator! Sakura Zentangle Apprentice 18 pc. , Sakura 50116 set . There were two pkgs in the package that I received. eleven pieces of Zentangle Zindala set. THIS WASN'T IN MY ORDER! The labels on the back of the 11 pc have been messed up by someone. Place the CORRECT LABELS on the backs of the WRONG PENS to complete the set. Two more boxes have been reordered. The specific items listed in this kit prompted me to order it. Instead of one of each of the Micron 01, 03, 05, and 08 pens, I was given two Pigma 05 pens and two Pigma 10 pens. The switch does not sit well with me. This purchase has left me extremely disappointed.
This kit has made my life a lot easier. It's ideal for someone who is new to Zentangle. I've had a lot of fun practicing tangles with all of the items. br>Excellent value for money.
As a volunteer Zentangle instructor, I like to provide students with a variety of paper options. I can't afford to give them more than one of these tiles because I don't get paid, and they're quite expensive. They're made of high-quality paper, are a little bigger than standard tile sizes, and have a date area on the back. These are the same 'tiles' included in Zentangle's teacher kits.
Everything you'll need for "tangling" is included in this fantastic kit. It's a great deal, especially for the price, and it has everything you need. Because I'm still learning Zentangle, I've kept all of my tiles except one or two. I'll save those for when I'm sure I won't make a mistake with them. / I'm a big fan of the pencils and the shader/blender. It enhances the personality of your works. The fact that the tiles could only be used on one side was a disappointment, but the shipping was quick. This is something I would strongly recommend to anyone who is interested in tangling.
