Questions & Answers

Is the bead a certain size? 150 or 3/16, whichever comes first. 187? There is a significant distinction between and. 150 and . 187 Can you tell me which one it is?

I used digital calipers to get a reading of 0. 1420 inches is a large number. As a result, the result is zero. 150 inch

Would this fit an Amarr Heritage 2000 door seal with triangle or dovetail ends?

No, only round door grooves are compatible with it. It was necessary for me to re-write Because the first seal I received had a flat edge, I only needed to place one order.

Is this compatible with the Wayne Dalton 19096 door?

It worked perfectly on my Wayne Dalton, but you must measure the little lip on each side of the rubber strip on your current door to ensure that it is the same size.br>This is a job that would benefit from two people. I did it myself, but it took a couple of hours of running back and forth from one end of the door to the other, sliding it into the track a couple of inches at a time, lubricating both tracks to make it go in smoothly. br>I am satisfied with the outcome.

Is it necessary to use a foam insert?

I didn't use any inserts, and the result is fantastic.

Squirrels! What a bunch of jerks! A ground squirrel gets stuck in my garage every now and then
5/5

They go straight for a control joint in my slab that runs right through the middle of my 18-foot garage door when that happens. The gap is narrow, but the trapped squirrel will claw its way out by breaking through the rubber bottom seal. I've lost two bottom seals as a result of this (the control joint will be filled next!). In any case, replacing the seal costs more than $180 at a local garage door company. It's unquestionably a two-way street. It took my 14-year-old son and me about an hour to install an 18-foot-wide door. You can get the rubber seal to slide along if you soak it in hot soapy water and squirt a lot of hot soapy water into the track. br>br>Of course, it's a Wayne-related item. Dalton uses a completely proprietary track and rubber bottom seal (elliptical bead rather than the industry standard T-bead) to keep the bottom panel thin. bead) . So don't bother going to any hardware stores because they don't have it. It was a simple decision to DIY this fix for $30 on Amazon and an hour of personal labor.

It served its purpose! After learning a few things, I was able to install a weather seal on a garage door by myself
5/5

To begin, double-check that you have rounded tracks rather than T tracks (which was my first error). Second, in order to have the most space, raise your garage door to near the top (just below where it stops). Finally, WD-40 should be sprayed on the affected area. After removing the old seal, there were 40 people in the tracks. The hardest part was getting both ends into the tracks, but once that was done, I was able to slide the seal with one hand while holding the other end up with my right hand so it didn't dangle down. When cutting the seal, remember to leave extra room on both ends of the door once it's on. You should be able to tuck some of it into the track (ensuring that there are no gaps between the ends that aren't sealed, as well as having extra in case the ends tear in the future). I hope this information is useful to someone in a similar situation to me:.

It was exactly as described
4/5

It is designed to fit the Wayne Dalton door. I think. I do not know for sure. So, what should have taken a few minutes by soaking this seal in a bucket with dish soap and water, as well as spraying the track with WD-40, took an hour. It took me almost three hours to complete 40, and I had shoulder pain for several days. br>br>However, I believe the issue was almost certainly caused by the Wayne Dalton track. I don't think the beading on this seal was defective. 99% sure is true is true Of course, the track has two slots: the outer slot slides in easily, while the inner slot has a crimp on it and is difficult to slide in. The bead would also pull out if I pulled more than a cm at a time. Multiply this by 18 feet, getting harder and harder to push each time, and it appears that the inner slot's track end has been damaged. On the other hand, the situation was exactly the same. So it didn't make a difference whether you went left to right or right to left. That is the source of the 1% doubt. I still believe it was designed by Wayne Dalton, and that there is some trick or tool that can help. I am unable to provide a definitive answer. I couldn't find any evidence of this in any video I looked up on the internet. br>br>Anyway, it's up and running, and it's mostly as it should be. It's not a perfect seal because it folds some of the folds that occur when the paper is rolled up. The difficult installation does not detract from the overall rating. Wayne Dalton's door, to be precise. I deduct one star (really a half star, but Amazon's "infinite wisdom" won't let you rate by half stars) because it appears to be a little flimsy, and I would have preferred one with a little more thickness and the option of getting one with steel wool inside; mice will chew through this in a matter of minutes. It's not as if thicker rubber would make a huge difference, but it might help seal the gap a little better.

Seal for garage door with a small (0
5/5

The garage door seal is exactly as described - the bead size is 15 inches. small (0. We installed it the same day it arrived, with a bead size of 15 inches. It's simple to put it together - However, there are some drawbacks. As many others have stated, having two sets of hands is advantageous (though not necessary) - and - Soaking the beads makes the installation process go more smoothly. I put a small amount of soap in the water and used a toothbrush to apply the soapy water to the beads as we slipped the seal into place a few inches at a time. I can't speak to the durability just yet, but the rubber material appears to be of at least medium quality - It's very similar to the original it replaced (which was around 27 years old). The rubber did not tear during installation, despite being yanked quite hard and frequently snagging on the metal track's ends.

Installing is a breeze! Wayne Daulton seal replacement that is exact and perfect! It's a perfect fit and a breeze to put on
5/5

In the stall is a person. Remove the seal receiver from the bottom of the door, align a couple of sawhorses, and squeeze clamp the receiver to them (as shown in the photo). Then, using a flat-tip screwdriver and an adjustable wrench, make sure the channels are all open in the same direction. Spray the channels with soapy water and let it sit for a few minutes. peasy! It's easier to feed the seal if you have a chair at the start.

Beads of a small size! Finally! After months of waiting for the bead style seal to arrive, I finally got it
5/5

This is the right one! It's the x-smaller size of the bead. small in comparison to the average bead I looked for and ordered four different types from a variety of companies (using exact item numbers), but none of them fit, despite the fact that they were "compatible. " Yay! This was just right!.

Not in the same league as Wayne Dalton
3/5

This replacement is a lot lighter and more flexible than the one I was replacing. When the door is lowered and curls up in the corners, it wants to fold. I should have read the description more carefully, because it is NOT a Wayne Dalton product. It is less expensive, but you get what you pay for.

It works, but it's a pain and the sensation isn't very long-lasting
3/5

This style was not available in any of the stores that normally only carry "T" styles. This will fit in the groove, but you'll need to make sure it's wet and use soap to help it move. It'll take two people to complete. This is also a material that isn't particularly long-lasting. It's difficult to believe Wayne Dalton is a fan of this look. Finding and working with it is a chore.
