It works great for both of our garage doors and garage door openers even though we have one internet gateway
As far as I can see, there's no way to eliminate the problem The Internet Using a smart lock like MyQ, you can control your garage door with your smartphone. In order to use my opener, I had to replace it.
agree that it can, but it requires another control module that can be connected to the main motor unit of the garage door opener, which can in fact turn any garage door opener into a myQ opener. It is not enough to just get the hub module you need the whole kit. There are a few items on Amazon you can purchase for around $105 or so
As of yet, I haven't found one.

I am not satisfied with how well it works with Google Home. I think the interface is a bit difficult to work with. This app is a bait and switch to get you to use theirs. I have several smart products that are free and work seamlessly with Google Home, but LiftMaster (Chamberlain) charges one dollar/month or ten dollars/year to link to Google Home, so instead of being able to say, "Hi, Siri, is my garage door open?" To reach MyQ, you must say, "Hey, Google, talk to MyQ. ". I will connect you to MyQ while I connect you. Please hold on while I do so. Then you have to listen to MyQ tell you what it can do every time before you can ask it It is imperative that LiftMaster changes that before this $60 product is worth its price.
I am able to use it with my garage door opener that has a MyQ logo, but no wifi. to find it is an entirely separate unit from the With a hard wired router on an extra ethernet port, the garage door can be controlled not via wifi, but rather by using normal garage door frequencies. As with any other door opener, the control is setup the same way. With MyQ software on an iPhone or Android, or via a web page, it connects to your MyQ unit. I like it a lot. There is a status display of the door, and you can set up alerts for open and close, left open for more than X minutes, etc. You can close or open the door from almost anywhere using an iPhone or Android device. Since the apps do not allow for family sharing, everyone gets the same alerts on their iPhones regardless of whether or not they have the family sharing setups. So I can program it the way I want, I wish there was a public API I could access. However, 99 of them did not. It does a good job for around 9% of owners. I appreciate the fact that you can see the status and history of opens and closes at any time. But I would have given it a higher rating if the LEDs were not so bright. I am able to light up my office at night with it.
As part of my garage door replacement, I also purchased the latest (at that time) Liftmaster garage door There was a Yellow learn button on these MyQ openers. It is important to note that if your Liftmaster/Chamberlain has MyQ printed on the side, but it doesn't say "WiFi," then you will need this 828LM gateway. My three garage doors are controlled by one gateway via an app on my phone. * The gateway must have an ethernet wired connection to the Internet, and it must be located far enough away from your garage door for it to work. You should be able to operate your garage door with your remote from your closest LAN port if your car remote can do this. The one I have is buried 30 feet away with several walls between it and my office. But it still works fine.
Apps can open and close doors and track the doors' open/closed status as well as how long they were opened or closed for. According to your settings, it will also send you an alert if it has been open for more than a specified amount of time or during a certain period. I don't like having to pay a ridiculous monthly fee to have your doors be able to be operated by Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or HomeKit.
Put the garages into the app, enter the garage code from the bottom, and connect the garage device to your network. I have had a remarkable experience so far with the set up and use of this device. There was one thing that caught me by surprise - it beeps loudly when the garages are remotely closed. In any case, I suppose this is to notify anyone in the way that it's going Once that happens, it closes in about 5 seconds. The problem is not a problem, I just didn't know it would cause it to do that. In addition to receiving alerts via your phone when it opens/closes, you can also set it to do so.
according to what I understand, home automation cannot be acquired unless the subscriber pays a service fee Having said that, there is no fee to use the app, which seems a little bit sketchy as far as milking that dollar bill goes. As far as I know, it works only with this device. It works with Google Home (with subscription) but it does not mention.
***Update*** 1/2020 I purchased LiftMaster twice in a 30 day period but the product never worked. Installation of neither product resulted in a working product. It's fair to say that LiftMaster's customer service team is arguably the worst I have experienced recently, bettering Comcast/Xfinity customer support which is well known for being awful. support team did not offer me any solutions that worked, did not check with me to see if any of the solutions they offered were effective, and closed my support ticket without paying any attention to it. The test failed. **** This device is incompatible with some wiring schemes and mesh routers, and unfortunately LiftMaster does not provide any documentation about this. Even though unsupported routers are often times not supported by high end switches, I often found this to work around the issue.
I was blown away by how easy it was to set up Creating an account, downloading an app, and connecting garage doors is all you need to do. This is complete. A test of opening and closing verified that it works well. There is only one reason I did not give it five stars, and that is that there is no Echo/Alexa support, and then there is a subscription for IFTTT (and Google Home, even though I do not use it). The fact that so many companies offer voice assistants out of the box (Wemo, Nest) does not make this a deal-breaker for most consumers I consider it a drawback, which makes for a deal breaker.
Connecting it via Ethernet wire is required. In order to use the product, it must be connected to an Ethernet network. As I mentioned, mine was on the other side of the house from where I wanted to control the garage opener. The second issue I had was that after I had installed and set it up, the garage door opener would stop working. After chatting with customer support, they asked if I had any LED light bulbs. I needed to turn off the gateway and turn it back on or log off and log back on to make it work. Although I told them I would, they were not interested. It is possible for them to interfere with the signal even when they're turned off. My understanding is that this is false. Because the gate was so far away from the door opener, I am certain that was the reason. Despite the fact that I told you not to replace all my LED bulbs with incandescent ones, you refused to comply. You can only find out why you can't get it to work if I reveal what I can tell you. Is it really true that this thing does not support LED bulbs? The majority of people have LED bulbs these days. However, I returned it for a refund, and I am not planning to purchase another one.
