What's the difference between the Liftmaster 893LM and the other Liftmaster models?

Older operators, dating back to the 1990s, are backward compatible with 893max. It will work with any coloured programming button and an operator. Only the most recent security levels (Security 2) are compatible with the 893LM. A yellow programming button can be found on the number 0

Is there a 9-number dip switch on this remote? My condo complex gate requires a dip switch opener with a nine-digit number. ?

For me, it works

However, the directions provided could be improved - If you follow my instructions, you'll be up and running in no time; however, before I forget, I'm writing a quick review. Getting this remote to work with my Liftmaster garage door proved to be a challenge at first. The instructions provided appear to be very clear, but they are missing a few details. br>To program the remote, follow these steps:

This is the part of the instructions that isn't completely clear - Now press and release the button you want to program the number of times that corresponds to the color of your garage door opener's learn button. br>1x yellow, 2x purple, 3x red, and 4x greenbr>4. When the garage door's LIGHTBULB flashes, press a different remote button (not the one you just programmed) to exit learn mode. br>br>Here's a quick YouTube tutorial that explains everything in less than one minute. br> I've been able to assist a few of you.

It really works
4/5

Purchasing and programming can be a real pain. This remote works fine, but figuring out if it's the right one for your garage door opener is an adventure in itself. I finally went back online to find part numbers for recommended opener replacement parts for the LiftMaster model opener that I have. Two of them were mentioned as being beneficial. Because I don't have three garages or a security gate, I took the safe route with this one. PROGRAMMING WAS MUCH HARDER THAN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. The instructions are broken down into four steps. The sentence structures are far too complicated to be followed easily. And one of these steps appeared to be out of order to me! I admit that I don't do it on a daily basis, but this isn't rocket science. I spent an hour outside. I finally found the right video on YouTube, and with those instructions, I was able to program this in under a minute. I'm not even going to try to explain how badly the instructions are written. Toss them out and watch the video instead.

Since 1993, Liftmaster garage door openers have been compatible with all of their products
5/5

After my parents replaced one of their garage door openers, I decided to purchase this opener. My Liftmaster 2255 had a red learn button, whereas their new Chamberlain C205 opener had a yellow one. My garage door opener wouldn't work with my remote, and I didn't want to carry around multiple visor remotes. Since January 1993, the Liftmaster 893MAX has been compatible with all Chamberlain, Liftmaster, and Craftsman garage door openers. It's a great product that's also simple to set up.

I couldn't get it to work for me
3/5

This remote is said to work on all Liftmaster/Chamberlain openers with a colored Learn button and door sensors made since 1993, according to multiple sources (including Liftmaster). My Liftmaster fits this description perfectly (it's a 1996 model), but I can't get this remote to work with my opener for the life of me. The top- A link to a video that appears to work for a lot of people is included in the rated review. I found two other programming videos for this remote on YouTube, one of which was created by Liftmaster. Surprisingly, each of the three videos gives slightly different instructions for connecting the remote to your garage door opener. I tried all three methods, as well as the written instructions in the box (which were slightly different and slightly garbled). They weren't any good. I'm stumped as to why this is. I experimented with each method several times. I experimented with clicking quickly and slowly when pressing the remote button multiple times in a row. I moved the remote closer and further away from the opener. In the opener, there isn't an LED light bulb. It's a real drag.

The remote has a problem programming it
3/5

This remote was difficult for me to program. To replace a 20-year-old remote that had died, I purchased a Liftmaster model 893. I finally got the remote to work after a number of failed attempts. My other [non-broken] 20-year-old remote, on the other hand, was no longer working. "OK," I reasoned, "I like the new one, and I already own three. " I'm going to get another two. As a result, I placed an order for two 890s. [It's worth noting that the programming instructions for the 890 and 893 models are identical. ] They arrived, and I quickly programmed the two 890s, but the 893 model was no longer functional, and I was unable to program it. The programming instructions on the motor housing of the door opener are not the same as the printed instructions that came with the 890. There are 893 different models in total. The printed instructions and the one on the motor housing are not the same as the Liftmaster YouTube video for programming these remotes. None of these attempts were successful in restarting the 893. I now have two 890 remotes that work, and I have no plans to buy any more until they are absolutely necessary.

MyQ's start page - It's fantastic - On HomeLink, this enables the up/down indicator
5/5

I have two garage door openers that were purchased around 2004. I added the Liftmaster 888LM to allow me to use the MyQ Home Bridge, which is compatible with Apple HomeKit. All of this worked, and the bridge now knows whether the door is open or closed thanks to the MyQ interface. As a result, I wanted my HomeLink-enabled door opener to be able to detect the up/down signal. So I bought this opener and programmed a button for each door with the 888LM, (not the door opener itself), using the learn button on the 888LM, and then programmed my HomeLink buttons with the 893Max and the 888LM. Both must be programmed in order for HomeLink to work: The 893Max was used for the first step, and the 888LM learn button was used for the second. To send the up and down signals, I used setting 1 for the frequency when setting up the 893Max. br>I found it perplexing and had no choice but to purchase this controller in order to figure it out. I wanted to make sure this remote would work with the 888LM because both the 888LM and the opener can be programmed for a remote(s). My old remotes, for example, only work with the door opener, whereas the MyQ Home Bridge and the 893Max work with the 888LM as well.
