There are no real interlocking mechanisms here, but they are not bad. Despite the fact that they are held together by a few pegs, if you move them at all they fall apart. Originally I was going to use this on grass, but since the pieces do not lock into place, it looks unbalanced. The price for what you get is also a bit high.

There is no better product for balconies than this. I like the way they drain, they look great, and they are Customizing them was also easy because they could be cut easily. I highly recommend this product.
