There is a lot of use for these spacers. The last around a year and a half, I have lost all 20 of them or stepped on them. This color contrasts well with dark decks and is easy to see under dark conditions. Decking boards up to 2x6 and 5/4x6 can be used with them. It is handy that you can put them back in the plastic jug that comes with them. Five stars for this carpenter with experience! This was a great product, so I ordered another 20 to make up for what I lost.
The boards could be put down much easier using these tools. My decision to go with the multi-sized pack wasn't a mistake because I found it helpful to use different sizes to get my floors square whenever I needed them. On more than one occasion, we came across the need to use different sizes of spacers on the same board. This was my first time building a composite deck, so I was expecting them to be perfectly straight but they were actually more crooked than wood, so the job of getting everything squared up was much easier because of these boards. I had a few that got clucked in too tight to pull out by hand, but I used a claw hammer on them to remove the handle and I had no problem doing so with no breakage. I had some reservations about the price being high for some plastic, but after using them, I am not upset at all.
My deck plans called for spacing between the boards, and these seemed to work for me. They did not take more than a week to send out the first batch. A 20 foot board could be done with the supply in the container. But the handles break when I force them out of their grooves when they get stuck. Anyway, I ordered a new container to replace those broken or lost when the ones on the deck bounced off the deck and landed in an area that could not be reached. Remember that you won't receive these for a couple of More than a week ago, I ordered these and they are still in transit to me It won't be necessary for me to have them by the time they arrive. I have updated It took me until October 31, but I ordered them on October 8, so they were here by October 31, 2011. There is no need for me to elaborate.
It turns out I was wrong after all. On my back deck, I put down about 300 square feet of composite decking by myself to replace the boards that were rotten. We were able to accomplish our task in a professional manner thanks to these little plastic spacers. After screwing the boards down very well, the boards were very easy to pull out, and the thickness of the boards was perfect for the recommended spacing recommended by the decking manufacturer. Then it's just a matter of getting them.
It is indispensable. We are in for some dope deckage.
Due to the fact that I had to install 20 ft 2x6's that were badly bent, I bought the tub of deck spacers. My biggest problem is getting these spacers to wear out. I have installed 400 feet of boards so far without one breaking. These two are subjected to a lot of pressure and abuse from two by sixes A pry bar can be slipped under the flange of a spacer and I can lift it out without damaging it if a spacer gets jammed between the boards due to pressure.
This is a great idea. Your money goes further with this one because it gives you more for your money! It's a great looking wallet. I've used several brands and styles and they all function at about the same level, but you can't compare prices.
There is no need for hard times when you've got babies like these! Make life easier!.
