what it is supposed to do! I was expecting this to work

It was pre- It is helpful to drill. You can drive the right size socket head into the hole with a power tool if you pick up the correct socket head. In some cases, my drill smelled funny after driving sixteen of these into 4X4's, but it was better than sore arms.
