Product Description

Designed for a 36 1/4" opening, this strong gate frame is built to last.
Six standard fence boards are wide and six feet high (a standard fence board is 5 1/2 inches wide).
The dimensions of the outside gate are 34 3/4" wide by 74 1/2" high. Would you like to use the decorative arches? A gate that is 10" taller will have a 10" rise.
Corner braces provide support on all four sides of the gate, preventing sagging and dragging that can occur with a traditional wooden gate

On the latch, is there an opening on which you could use a padlock?

There is a simple latch on the gate for securing the gate with a

Can this gate be purchased with posts like the ones pictured in the picture. The gate has a latch for securing it, right?

There are no posts. There is a latch on it.

The grove into which boards slide needs to be as wide as possible. It has been stated that "dimensional lumber fence boards" can be used. Is this right? Could you tell me if that's What is "1"?

I.8. 5. If you want cedar or pressure treated wood, use that. Make sure there are no gaps. They should be 6 to 8" wide. Even if the boards shrink, they will still be slightly heavier.

If the boards are horizontal instead of vertical - is that possible?

As far as I'm concerned, I have it running

An excellent value for your money! Steel frame with heavy duty
4/5

Some of the nuts and bolts were missing from the box, which came with the hardware scattered inside. When I contacted the seller, they wanted me to return the item and purchase it again rather than giving me a refund. Rather than expressing my appreciation with a full five-star rating, I gave it only four out of five stars. Ace Hardware's ones are now in their place. There is no easy way to build this, so if you do not have the right skills, make sure it fits right. My final modifications were to widen it by an inch and to shorten it by about 4” (cutting and re-boshing) The holes have to be drilled). In addition to the posts from Lowe's and other hardware purchased from Amazon, I also added the posts from Lowe's. My board is 1/2 inch tongue and groove euro style composite board from Home Depot. The fence overall turned out really nice, like I said, if you are handy, you can build a fence for a reasonable.

There is a lot of confusion regarding the final dimensions
3/5

Stupidly, I failed to take the other reviews into account. There are too many thick boards needed for the project. In order to put the boards into place, I used a router along the edges. In order to fit one board within the frame, I had to rip it down. I think the final product is excellent once it's put together. However, if you are not handy and are looking for a quick and easy kit this may not be for They were quick to respond to my inquiry, so I contacted customer service. The decision made to not repack and ship back was made in the end. Upon assembly, the door is quite heavy, so I fitted a wheel to support it so it does not sag. My rating of this is low, because a "kit" shouldn't be so hard to understand.

Gate of the Great
4/5

That gate is very strong and tall, which is why we like it. It was only during the assembly process that we encountered a problem. In the instructions, it says it takes six 1" x 6" x 6' wood Having gone to the lumber yard to buy boards, I was shocked to discover that the rails on the gate are too tight to accommodate boards with a thickness of 34" or more. We still were not able to fit everything together so that the frame could be put together with just a rubber mallet. We ended up getting tongue and groove boards and the gate is now.

This is an impressive gateway! The assembly is not always easy
5/5

There may be times when two people are required. It didn't help that I routered the edges of the planks so they would fit tightly. I stained them before installation and let them dry two weeks beforehand, but the wood still shrank after installation. In any case, I am very pleased with this product, it's very well made, sturdy and it.

As described, it is different from what you received
3/5

In my case, reviewing is something that I rarely do and I only do it here to protect everyone else. To start with, boards with a thickness of one inch You need to cut the frame if you intend to replace an existing fence door of that published size. If you have a fence door the same size, you need to use this frame. There's nothing to see here at all. I agree with the instructors that they are wrong about.

I like the project very much
5/5

The directions are very good but you should slow down and thoroughly read them. Using wood clamps, I was able to fix the boards in place. There is no guarantee that fence pickets will be It is much easier to do this when they are clamped and compressed. After the boards have been installed, it is quite heavy. Perhaps you'll need someone to help you hang Before setting the posts, make sure the opening is large enough. Foam was used in place of concrete as post insulation. My time frame was about two hours, so I could hang the gate and complete the project fairly.

6' posts are too long for this post
3/5

I am not very happy with the Designed to fit openings of 47 inches wide (8 standard fence board widths x 6 foot lengths)" Actually, it isn't true. My fence posts are actually 8 feet tall, with 2 feet cemented in. While I put the gate vertically on my driveway laying on the ground, I notice that the bracket that is supposed to fasten to the post overhangs the post very For the gate to open fully, I need to raise it an additional half inch or so. Gates like this are not designed for openings up to 6' long. *Also one of the screws was easy to strip. It also flakes off easily, and the coating is relatively cheap. Based on the visual impression of the base metal, it appears to be galvanized steel. Unlike I would have liked, the screws for fastening into the post are quite small. They don't seem to hold up very well, in my opinion. As I carry it, the gate appears to be shifting around. As soon as it is affixed to the posts, I doubt it will remain square.

The installer is easy to use
4/5

Although we had no problem installing the application, I could not go down to the 47" because we could not change the posts so I cut them down with a metal jigsaw blade and it went together well. In order to fit my pickets in the gate I used dado cuts of a 1/2 " length for a 1/16" depth so that they would slide into place Due to the fact that I did not think 1" screws would be good enough to hold the gate in place, I used 3" deck screws to attach the hinges to the redwood posts. In addition, I attached a 2x4 redwood brace behind the pickets of the gate to give it This gate is of good quality, but if you need to modify it, you will likely require moderate to advanced woodworking skills. The instructions are vague there are two bolts that are longer for attaching the 1/2 the lock to the gate, and if they are accidentally used elsewhere you will have to take the whole thing apart to find them. All the bolts could be 1/8 " longer to make assembly easier. You can either pound it in using a hammer and mare the wood or use a ratchet strap to draw it in with if you do not cut the pickets down.
