I needed to use thru-bolts to secure my winch to a 6"x 6" post. Bolts were used, but they were too long to pass through the winch mounting holes directly. Long bolts were used to attach the bracket to the winch, while short bolts were used to attach the winch to the bracket. Because it's made of 1/4" steel, the bracket is extremely durable.

I bought it to go with my Dutton-style furniture. 2500 lb. Lainson DLB2500A Brake Winch I didn't use it in the end. This bracket, on the other hand, is built to last. I kept it for far too long or I would have returned it. Here on the farm, I'll find a new use for it.
The sturdiness of this bracket astounded me. If I can find a way, I'll put my jeep on it.
