I haven't had any issues with the grip tape causing damage to any surfaces. It is not a harsh abrasive and is more "rubbery" than sandpaper, despite its texture.
Yes, the grip faces have a rubber pad that provides a strong grip and is non-slip. causing damage to surfaces
It may appear awkward because you are carrying the plywood with one hand while holding the ladder with the other. I suppose it depends on your strength and height. I like how simple it is for me to carry a sheet of plywood with one hand.

My old plastic version finally broke, so I purchased this one and have been extremely pleased with it. It's a must-have for anyone who does a lot of DIY projects at home and needs a little extra help with things like lighting plywood or hauling expanded metal to weld up their trailer. br>br>The surface has a rubber texture to keep the item in place, but if the item is heavier, the right side will automatically enforce the grip. I've carried MDF boards weighing up to 100 pounds, but it could use another handle at that weight. Carrying 3/4" plywood, on the other hand, is so much easier that it actually saves my back!.
When working with a difficult-to-reach pile, you can simply come up to the top and grab the sheet at the top rather than bending over and lifting the sheet to place it on a carrier that slides under a sheet of drywall or plywood. One corner of the drywall is damaged by lifting it on one end to slide the lifter under it. If you're carrying drywall over a long distance, this may not be the best option because you can only lift it to shoulder height, which means you won't be able to climb stairs or go over obstacles. However, you can use it to load drywall onto a cart or even pull it from a store shelf when purchasing plywood.
It's ideal for transporting boards that are about 1 inch wide plus or minus. The grip has a rubberized surface that prevents the boards from being damaged while being lifted. This is a great little helper tool.
This works perfectly and makes transporting plywood a breeze. The grippiness of the pads has never been an issue for me. It also doesn't leave a mark on plywood, as far as I can tell.
I'm a senior citizen who needed to move some 1/2" plywood sheets. This was a fantastic solution. I simply put it on, picked it up, and carried it away.
My son enjoys woodworking, and I enjoy working on home improvement projects. This is an excellent carrier/assistant for carrying heavy wood or other items such as wood (sheetrock, etc. ) with one hand. I frequently have to carry items downstairs, and I usually slide the items down and hold them in place with my body to prevent them from moving too quickly. If I have to carry them UP, it's even worse because I try to load them on a dolly that is far too small and somehow manage to drag it in front of me. I make it work, but it's difficult for me because I don't like waiting for help from others. It's more convenient for me to do it myself. br>br>However, with this- I had to transport large mdf-board pieces. It was a lot easier than usual to type board down the yard. It's still heavy, and I'm still carrying it one piece at a time, but it's a lot easier than using my two hands and abdomen, and it's also a lot easier than using the dolly. br>br>I'm a big fan of the carrier. It is effective. It has made me very happy.
I require two Panel Carriers as well as a helper. I was surprised to learn that it works on 1/4-inch plywood. And it does a fantastic job of gripping the sheet. I was worried that 1/4 inch wouldn't be enough thickness, but it turned out to be perfect. br>br>Because I'm short, I wouldn't be able to lift it high enough to walk with it once it gripped the plywood, so I'd need two carrier tools, one on each end of the sheet, and someone to help. br>br>In a pinch, I might be able to move it, but it would be a huge effort and I wouldn't be able to get very far. I gave it five stars because it's a fantastic tool. br>br> My problem is that I can't move it.
This is a tool for carrying heavy loads like granite countertops, thicker plywoods, and so on. You clamp on from the top and the tool clamps the work as you pick it up. Clamping pressure is generated by the item's weight. This device is designed to be used in a commercial or industrial environment. We use these in the construction industry where I work. This one is on par with the others I've tried. I am completely happy.
