Questions & Answers

At its lowest point, how high is the lift?

When the lift is set to the lowest setting, I'd estimate the height to be between 4'6" and 5'. However, if you tilt the panel hooks to one side, it will be lower on that side (as shown in the photo). It's a lot easier to load now.

2x10 tin sheets must be hung from the ceiling. Will this be able to handle it?

Yes, I lifted 3x13' tin sheets in a 50x50 shop and supported the metal panels with 2x10s on top of the lift. I completed the ceiling on my own.

What is the procedure for locking the cradle in the tilt position? The tilt latch only locks the cradle into a flat position; it does not tilt the cradle for loading or doing walls. ?

Tilt cannot be locked because it is used to load and position the panel on the wall.

It's critical for me. What options do we have?

For the price, it's a great deal! Product reviews are something I don't do all that often
5/5

This drywall lift completely changes the game! br>br>I was sceptical due to some of the negative aspects: 1- Not only for this product, but also for other lifters under $400, have received five-star reviews. Given the cost was comparable to a rental, I decided to take a chance and buy it. With the exception of one small dent in the metal, the box arrived ripped and mangled, but all of the pieces survived. br>br>After putting it together, I was blown away! The quality is excellent, especially for a product at this price. I'm sure the $1,200 lifters are nicer and could withstand the daily abuse of a professional lugging it from job site to job site, but for a DIY homeowner, this drywall lifter is hard to beat. br>br>According to some reviews, this unit is shaky or has tipped over. My advice would be to attach the main vertical bar to the tripod base with extreme caution. It's a tight fit, and if it's not aligned correctly, it might pop out and fall over. It is, however, very stable if properly attached.

Although this is not a contractor-grade tool, it can be made to function
4/5

This isn't a tool designed for contractors. It's flimsy and shabby in construction, but it'll do the job. It's difficult to load the drywall onto the carriage; it's really a two-person job, especially with 5/8 ten-foot panels. The worst part is that the carriage does not descend far enough. The spring loaded hooks that support the panel before tilting it horizontal will not stay in place, making loading the panel difficult and frustrating. The thing won't go low enough for one person to lift the panel in the middle, so you have to raise one end into the hook, then try to raise the other end without causing the panel to slip off the first hook. This is nearly impossible because the hooks will not stay in place even after solidly tightening the springs, and you can't lock the carriage from rotating around the vertical column. After installing that end of the panel, I used a claw hammer to break the first hook. In the horizontal position, the carriage overbalances to the side, away from the hooks. The small prop in the center that keeps the thing from moving is a bit of a gimmick. The whole thing feels a little shaky, but raising the panels and aligning them on the ceiling takes very little effort, and it saved me from having to hire a helper and was a lot less effort than physically holding the panels up while trying to screw them down.

Hazardous Junk is a term used to describe a type of garbage that is dangerous This has to be the most hazardous and poorly constructed piece of overhead use equipment I've ever bought
3/5

br>The lift wheel is a device that allows you to raise and lower your body. a twisted brake mechanism On the very first sheetrock lift, I was bent. br>As a result, the hoist could no longer be used for overhead work. It was almost certain that the cheap welds would fail and the structure would collapse on the workers below. br>As I type this review, this unit is being packaged and is on its way to the UPS drop-off location. First thing in the morning, I'm going to turn it off. br>Take a look at the pictures. That's not how the wheel is supposed to be twisted. BEWARE OF THE BUYER. If you buy this piece of garbage, you should get a hard hat. You have been forewarned of this danger.

Is it possible to be rock solid? No
5/5

Effective? You bet. I was worried after reading several other reviews for this hoist that it would be flimsy and easily broken. The hoist is shaky during the lift, has a lot of give, and the wheel locks aren't very good, but once you get a panel in place (I've been lifting 5/8" panels, by the way), it stays exactly where you want it. Loading is a bit of a pain because the hoist's lowest setting is still above my waist, but I was able to load each panel by myself without too much difficulty. br>br>If you're looking for something with a high-end, long-lasting feel, keep looking. If you're looking for something that just works and isn't too expensive, this is likely to meet your needs. With this hoist, I probably put up 30 panels, and it worked incredibly well for me, especially considering my drywall hanging timing was pretty bad (peak of the COVID-era). I can't help because I'm in a 19 situation.

It works perfectly - Slow and steady is the way to go
4/5

Pros: I was able to drywall the 8-foot ceilings without the assistance of anyone else. It gets the job done. br>br>Cons: The situation is not particularly stable. If the drywall is not balanced, it will tilt. Only in certain directions (rubber stops on bottom) could it be moved without being lifted. Without holding on to the lift wheel when the brake is released, it will undoubtedly fall quickly. even when it's not loaded br>br>Information about the company: br>br>Assemble the items and place them near where they will be used. Lift the drywall sheet onto the unit at a 45-degree angle. Make sure it's in the right proportions. Take a horizontal position and secure the latches. Lift by turning the wheel. Small adjustments from the ground can be made to bring it closer to the ceiling. However, fine tuning is best done from a high vantage point on the ladder. Turn the wheel until the drywall is kept against the trusses by the pressure. Install with a screw. When you're finished, Release one hand from the brake and keep the wheel from spinning out of control with the other. br>br>On the ceiling, I finished my 8 sheets. I even used the set up to keep my insulation rolls in place while stapling them to the trusses. br>br>Saved me from having to hire help and build / rent scaffolding for the same job.

In terms of price, it's a bargain, but it's already proven to be a good investment
5/5

Despite the fact that it isn't a professional-grade product, It is a high-quality item that is commonly used by contractors and does an excellent job for this task. self-starter. Open the box, unfold and lock the base frame, place the column in place, bolt the hand crank to the wheel, slide the extensions in, and snap the cross braces in place. Everything has been completed and is ready to use. Unpacking and setting up takes less than 5 minutes. My only criticism is the fold-out design. The down chromed hooks that catch the drywall sheet while loading it don't always snap into place securely and can droop, making it more difficult to load the sheet. It's not a big deal as long as I don't bump them while loading. I'll eventually tighten the spring tensioners to keep them in place a little better. br>I was able to install a drywall ceiling in my garage by myself with the help of this hoist. I wish I'd had this when I was redoing the ceilings in my house years ago; I would have saved a lot of time (and cursing) if I had known about it sooner. I almost wish I could give it 6 stars because it's half the price of what "Horror Fright" wants for one and it's been working great so far. br>April 2020: april 2020: april 2020: april My son's house has new ceilings, so I used the hoist again. Even so, 6 stars are still appropriate.
