Questions & Answers

When the lift is at the lowest point, what is its height?

If the lift is set to the lowest setting, the approximate height is between 4'6" and 5' 4". However, if you tilt the panel hooks, the panel will be lowered on one side. (As you can see in the picture.) You can load it more easily.

My goal is to lift two tin sheets of 10 x 10. Does this have the capability to ?

In a 50x50 shop, I stacked 2x10s on top of the lift to support the metal panels while lifting three 13' x 13' sheets of tin. It took me about a day to finish the ceiling

In order to lock the cradle in the tilt position, how do you do it? The tilt latch only locks the cradle into the flat position, it does not tilt the cradle in order to load or handle ?

There is no way to lock tilt. You can use tilt only to load panels and set them on the

This product is of great quality at a great price
5/5

Reviewing products is not something I do often. With drywall lifts like this, the game has changed. My first impression of the data was skeptical due to some negative, 1-star comments Reviews give this product five stars, and other lifters costing less than $400 receive five-star ratings as well. The cost is comparable to what I would have paid in a rental, so I decided to purchase it. While the box arrived ripped and mangled, all the pieces, barring one minor dent in the metal, made it out intact. My first impression is that it is really cool! It is a very good product at this price point, especially for something like this. It is true that the $1,200 lifters may be a bit nicer, and they could probably withstand daily abuse from professionals lugging them from job site to job site. But for a DIY homeowner, this lifter is hard to beat. This unit has been described as unstable or falling over in some reviews. Attaching the tripod base to the main vertical bar needs to be done with great care. As it is a tight fit, it could fall over if it is not properly aligned. The attachment is very stable, though, if it's done correctly.

It might not be contractor-grade, but it can be made to do the job
4/5

Tools of this kind do not belong to the contractor's arsenal. A crudely constructed device that is light and can be made to function. When using ten foot 5/8 drywall panels, it is very difficult to load the drywall onto the carriage, requiring two people to do it. One of the most frustrating things about this is how low the carriage does not go. In addition, the spring loaded hooks that hold the panel vertical before you tilt it horizontal will not stay in place when loading the panel, making it difficult and frustrating to load. It took several attempts to raise you panel in the center because the thing doesn't go low enough for one person to lift the panel. As a result, you have to raise one end into the hook, then try to raise the other end without letting the first hook slip off. Due to the hooks' inability to stay in place, even after tightening the springs solid, and the inability to lock the carriage from rotating around the vertical column, this is almost impossible to do. By hammering a claw hammer into the first hook that I had set in place after securing that end of the panel, I was able to fix it. It is visible that the carriage is overbalanced to the side away from the hooks when it is horizontal. It is silly to have a little prop in the center to keep the thing in place. Even though the whole thing feels shaky, raising the panels and aligning them on the ceiling does not take much work. In the end, I saved myself the cost and the hassle of hiring a helper by doing this rather than trying to hold the panels up while screwing.

There's dangerous junk in there
3/5

Undoubtedly, this is one of the most dangerous and poorly built items of overhead equipment I have ever owned. There are two parts to the lift wheel the spindle and the lift wheel The brake mechanism was twisted and damaged I twisted at the beginning of the sheetrock lift. As a result, the hoist could no longer be used This would certainly bust the cheap welds and bring the workers below crashing down.
I am packing up this unit as I type this review and it's going to the UPS distribution center. It takes off as soon as I wake up You can view the photos by clicking here. This is not supposed to be the way the wheel is twisted. Please be careful when purchasing. If you wish to purchase this piece of crap, you should purchase a hard hat. It's a good idea to be.

Do you really know what rock solid is? Not at all
5/5

Is it effective? It is very effective. In reading other reviews of this hoist, I was concerned that it would be flimsy, easily broken, and easily damaged. While the hoist is somewhat shaky during the lift, has quite a bit of give, and the wheel locks aren't very good, once the panel is in place (I've been lifting 5/8" panels, by the way), it stays in exactly the same place. Getting the panels loaded is a bit of a hassle, since the lowest the hoist goes is still higher than my waist, but I was able to lift each panel by myself without much difficult. You're better off looking for something that has an inexpensive, durable feel to it. you're looking for something that will work for you without being too expensive, then this could be a good option for you. This hoist allowed me to put up 30 panels with incredible ease, especially since I had a terrible time hanging drywall (peak of the COVID-- There is no help for me in the 19 situation).

I like how it works Balance is important
4/5

Slow down and be careful. The pros are Despite the 8 foot ceilings and their difficulty, I was able to finish drywalling the rooms by myself. Is capable of doing its job, but there are a few cons This is not a very stable website. It is important to balance the drywall otherwise it will tilt. It can only be moved in certain directions without needing to be lifted (rubber stops on the In most cases, the wheel would fall quickly after the brakes are released without holding the wheel up Regardless of whether the boat is loaded or The following general information can be found here Assemble the shelf and place the shelf near a place where the product will The drywall sheet should be lifted onto the unit while it's tilted at To ensure a balance, you need to ensure that the process Lock the safety latch and go horizontal. By turning the wheel, you can lift it up. The ground can be adjusted from the top to get it close to the ceiling when it's close to the ceiling. To do fine tuning, however, it is best to be able to see from above. Make sure the wall drywall is in contact with the trusses by turning the wheel. Set in place with a screw. You are done when you have finished. One hand must be free to release the brakes and the other must be held back to prevent the wheel from spinning. This is what I did on the ceiling 8 sheets. As well as using the setup to hold my insulation rolls after they had been stapled I was able to save money from hiring services and building / renting scaffolding to accomplish the same purpose.

It is a cheap solution, but has proven to be a great value and a time saver so far
5/5

Although it's not professionally done, it is a great start Items such as this that are used by contractors provide incredible value this one is the best-quality item on the market An independent learner. The box must be opened, the base frame must be unfolded and locked, the column must be dropped into place, the hand crank bolted to the wheel, those extensions must be fitted and the cross braces snapped into place. I've completed my work and am ready to use it. In less than five minutes, you can unbox and set it Folding is the only thing I don't like about it It often seems that the snap-in chromed hooks that hold the drywall sheet during loading don't lock in place rigidly and might even droop, making loading the sheet more difficult. It is not a big problem as long as I do not bump them when loading. likely adjust the spring tensioners to hold them a bit more firmly in place. By using this hoist, I have been able to put in a drywall ceiling in my garage all by myself. Having this knowledge years ago would have saved me a lot of time when redoing my house's ceilings My time and frustration would have been saved (and I would have cursed less). In light of the fact that it's half the price of what Horror Fright wants for one, and it's working fine so far, I almost wish I could give it a 6 star rating. The following events will take place in April I have used the hoist to do the ceiling of my son's house again. Despite its flaws, it still deserves six.
