Yes, you certainly can; I work in the construction industry and can easily lift 8, 10, and 12 footers while laying down. The only disadvantage is that if you're standing your sheets up, you might have trouble lifting them because there doesn't seem to be enough lever when lifting a 12 footer standing. Another thing that irritates me is that you must send the kicker first, followed by the sheet. Like the big black kickers, you can really go for it.
I have no idea; I've used it to install hundreds of sheets and have yet to encounter a problem. It's an aluminum extrusion that's held up admirably.
I don't have a rasp on the one I have......br>I just use a regular rasp.

For hanging sheetrock, this is a very portable tool. The problem I had with it was that lifting and positioning sheets without tearing the bottom of the sheet where the lift tab is can be difficult. It's something I'll never be able to do. I had previously used a sheet metal lifter with a round pivot point, which worked better but was much bulkier.
didn't live up to expectations When I saw the positive reviews, I decided to order it. However, after using it for a while, I decided to return it. br>br>Lifting function isn't very useful - When hanging drywall, you must leave some space between the drywall and the floor, especially if it is concrete. This necessitates the use of a lift to raise the drywall slightly. It was still difficult because I had to put drywall pieces underneath. br>br>Rasp is a type of rat. Don't hold your breath for much from this. It's not the same as a regular rasp - which I got from Home Depot (husky) and was far superior to this.
I bought this kicker to assist me when I don't have a third hand, but it's a pain to carry around for the few times it's needed. It has a thinner lip that gets under things better than a bar, but if you don't feather it, it can blow out the bottom edge. The rasp is actually a paper peeler, not a rasp. I'm not sure why there are so many holes.
I'm a carpenter who hangs drywall on a daily basis, and I'm not impressed. It works well as a lifter, but it frequently tears the sheet's bottom. The rasp has zero value! Bring your pet beaver to work with you because he will make a much better rasp! br> I'm going to install Doors in a few months, so I'll keep it and hopefully give it a better review if it works. I'm confident it'll work well for installing heavy hospital doors without the assistance of a second person because it sits flat on the floor, which is very convenient.
It's small, simple to operate, and it accomplishes what it claims. I wish the rasp was a little better (I keep a regular one on hand because this one is only mediocre), and I wish the thin, flat part that allows you to lift the drywall was a little longer so it didn't bang the rock up as much when moving it around. Overall, it's a good product, but it's not perfect.
Even if you have a helper, I would recommend these to anyone who needs to lift panels or doors to secure them to a wall. This is fantastic. They're a little bigger than I expected, but they're incredibly durable.
One of those handy tools that makes life a whole lot easier. Because it's small and light, it'll fit easily into your tool belt. It's the third time I've done it. Over the last four years, I've tried three different brands. They've been with me for 5 years and I adore them. Just keep an eye on them to make sure they don't fall out. My previous one's lifting tab was broken when I dropped it on the concrete slab. The same thing happened to my first one. My second one vanished while working on a large multi-crew project. This book comes highly recommended.
It's possible that the flat part that catches the sheetrock's bottom could be a little wider. The rock is easily broken because it is so small. Furthermore, the entire unit is far too short. It's difficult to lift a 5/8x9' board while trying to install screws without leverage.
