In cases where there are no zone thermostats calling for heat, cool, or fan only operation, SmartZone controllers will open all zone dampers. In the event that a call comes in from any zone and there is no call active from another zone, SmartZone will close the other zone There is no need to close any dampers in the calling zone or the calling zone's dampers.
There will usually be a separate receiver component at or near the zone controller for each wireless thermostat. There is a wireless connection between the receiver and the thermostat. Receivers are wired to zone controller thermostat terminals where they relay wireless signals from the thermostat to the zone You can control your equipment with any wireless or wired thermostat with SmartZone. With SmartZone controls, there is no primary thermostat unless you choose to use our proprietary ECO mode to configure it to operate that way.
Calls to SmartZone controls will be answered according to a first come, first served policy. In the case of a first call for cool in the controller, the cooling equipment for those zones will be turned on. In response to a heat call, a 15-minute timer is started by the controller while the cooling component is running. In the event that the cool call is not satisfied within the 15 minute timer, the cool call will be suspended, and the controller will switch to the heat call after removing the cool air from the HVAC The controller will switch back to cooling if a heat call has not been satisfied after 15 minutes. Each calling zone will be processed in this manner until all of them have been contacted. As soon as either the heat or cool calls are satisfied inside of the allotted 15 minutes, the controller will change that call to the alternate
Several different model levels of the carrier's Infinity are available. Although the Ztech thermostat is no longer available, upgrading to a smart thermostat such as the ecobee is not feasible as its controller board is a 12V system instead of a 24V system. It was stated by Beutler themselves that it would cost $2K to upgrade the controller board, and I bought into their excuse and were stuck with one thermostat until the next overhaul of the HVAC system. It's no secret that I have no knowledge of HVAC technology - nada, zilch - but I refuse to be Beutler's stooge and SmartZone is the key to my survival. The following supplies would be needed if someone wanted to do this on their own house This is *br1. A SmartZone Controller for 2 zones. A dedicated power supply, inverter, or transformer (24VAC) is required. You can easily set your zone(s) to be controlled by the smart thermostat(s)
Wiring is very simple The following connections were made. It is great to work with SmartZone (I spoke with Jeff, a Support Specialist) . It took them a few minutes to walk me through every step and diagnose the problem. In order to get my system up and running, they spent almost one hour on the phone with me, which is rare these days. Among the items I ordered, I also ordered My first attempt at reading the wiring diagram yielded confusion, as I was unable to comprehend how it should be wired In order to be absolutely sure, I called support. The guy was awesome. Besides knowing that I was going to hook it up wrong, he informed me of how to wire it up to my old Durozone dampers (which seemed kind of strange to me at the time). My immediate reaction was shock. It was awesome to meet him. I had an issue with one of the nest thermostats that would not work as soon as I hooked everything up. I was again blown away by the support. It was he that helped me troubleshoot that the W wire carried voltage and I ended up turning it off. It has worked out so well for me that I used the fan wire for the W instead of the fan wire. I'm pretty satisfied with how everything turned out. Raising your support dude will do you good!.
There was a little doubt in my mind. Because it was so expensive, I waited and put it off buying it. I finally gave in to my instinct and ordered it anyway. After the next night's election, the old zone board was gone for good. A two-day heat wave has taken place. The board came in a day early, and I was so happy! As a result of the problems we have had with it over the years, I knew my old zone board pretty well. As it turned out, it was getting close to 20 years old. I unplugged the furnace by turning off the breaker. In order to ensure that every wire was connected correctly, I took pictures of how it was connected. As far as I can tell, the connections on my old Honeywell were the same as the ones on my new one. By carefully moving them one by one from the old board to the new board while referencing the manual for references, I did it step by step. Previously, I put the old Discharge Air Temperature Sensor in the duct work, where the new one is. After re-opening everything, I closed it back down again. Returned the breaker to its original position and the heater started working again. Under the stay, I didn't have to worry about having to sleep without heat for a third night It is possible to order from home. Thank you to the wonderful Amazon employees who arranged to get it here so fast. They deserve so much more than what they receive. In addition, it was great to be able to fix this on my own with the available product. Although I would love to support a local business right now, it is tight for my family as it is for.
