Questions & Answers

What are the effects of a carrier/bryant dampening 90 degrees Would you recommend using a damper actuator? During this process, is the signal wire constantly energized or is it only energized for a short period ?

The seller has provided the following update Several of the Carrier actuators are compatible with SmartZone (some of them aren't). know what model number to look for, please let us know There are some that ARE compatible The following information is for the HF21KJ008 & This is true for HF21KJ005 and others as well. Your actuator's data sheet should indicate that it supports electrical voltages up to 24VAC and that it can halt without causing motor damage. A similar answer was provided by the seller, and it still applies to some actuator models. Ensure your model number is valid by contacting us directly.

Could you let me know if dual stage systems are supported? Thanks so much?

In addition to a cooling stage, Smartzone 2X and 4X have a heating stage as well.

intelligent venting?

As far as open/close dampers that operate on three wires, the ZC2S control is only compatible with conventional heat/cool single stage hvac equipment. regards to the Smartvent system, SmartZone can turn on or off any 24 VAC HVAC accessory with a 24 VAC input circuit, including humidifiers, UV light systems, ventilation controls and other devices that occur on a 24 VAC circuit. It allows individual control of the HVAC equipment from each zone thermostat and is capable of handling simultaneous opposing heat and cool calls from different zones at the same time. The SmartZone product line is backed by a 5 year

How about a variable speed compressor (American Standard Platinum 20) with this 2 zone panel?

Using our SmartZone controllers, your hvac system can be controlled up to 2 speeds if it uses 24VAC controls. you have a heating/air conditioning system with "communicating" controls (and variable speed compressors typically communicate with each other) SmartZone or any other 24VAC third party zone control product will not work.

Using the board is as easy as plugging it in
5/5

Generally speaking, the product is awesome. Despite being in an industry with strong competition, you will always find the best after sales support. Long story short. My 4-year-old dual zone single HVAC unit has a remote control that I usually do not use. The air blower suddenly stopped working downstair in my house, no air was being Despite working properly, the second floor gave erratic results, and was not accepting the thermostat setting for its temperature limit. The local HVAC company came to inspect for 10 minutes and informed me that they generally do not work on this type of HVAC system with this kind of board as troubleshooting the system is a major undertaking. These A/C guys appeared to want to leave my home as quickly as possible, which I found strange. An estimate will be provided later by him. After calling the customer service department five times and escalating it to the manager, I did not receive a phone As we made our way to the end of the chapter, I realized that the previous dual zone controller board made by the competitor of ECOJAY had been broken. I was told by the Air Conditioning guy that the board would cost me upwards of $700, but he did not know exactly how much it was going to cost. In the evening, I found that the LCD now had no power and that a resistor near the fuse had failed. failing to get a resolution, I shopped for the same board and discovered it was only sold through distributors and contractors. After discovering Ecojay, I began using it. The reason I gave it a try and bought it was that I thought I could change it myself by replicating the wires that were previously in place. As soon as I swapped the boards, the second floor commenced working. My process took just a couple of days, and the boards arrived in 2 days. There was a problem with the first floor as well. Those were the first thoughts that crossed my mind, that the damper in the downstairs zone was broken. It took me a while to find the damper because I couldn't even find where to look. However, the LED for one of the dampers was turning red on the ECOJAY smart zone board, so I decided to call ECOJAY's sales department at 500 pm Their work day ended at 04pm, which was 4 minutes after it ended. I was then helped by a guardian angel named Jeff who answered the phone. It took him an hour and 16 minutes to spend time with me, testing the smart zone board, waiting for me to splice cables to test terminals, waiting for me to find screw drivers, and guiding me through how to reset the All in all, I made the damper move, we fixed 2 areas including downstairs, and I had a crash course on my air conditioning system for 76 minutes. Toward the end of the test, he said there was one suspicious aspect as the LCD display showed a temperature of 67 degrees rather than the expected 55 After I had replaced the sensor with the one from the ECOJAY, he said I needed to replace the sensor with that from the ECOJAY We used an old sensor we already had. I got to that point when Jeff advised me to take some time to rest from all the work and heat in the attic and wait until morning to In the end, I just replaced the sensor immediately instead of waiting until the morning. I'd like to thank my guardian angel Jeff for getting the HVAC back online and working correctly in the last 36 hours. We were on the phone when he was drilling or screwing something with some power tool in the background, and I remember that he never, ever lost focus when I asked him what I had to perform on my side and what I should be looking I was still on the phone with him even though the end of his workday had passed. He even left the office to drive home. Anyhow, I am sorry if this seems like a lot of hype, but I have never experienced customer service like this before. It was difficult for me to deal with my wife when the A/C broke while I was out of town. My life would have been miserable if it hadn't been for Jeff. I thank God I met him after 5 more miserable days of Texas heat. If you need products in your portfolio, I would recommend buying from these guys. There are no middlemen such as contractors, distributors, or schemers involved in the process. Ultimately, if I had a friend like Jeff or ECOJAY before all of this wasting of my time and energy, I could probably just have bought a $20 dollar sensor and solved my problem. An A/C company I was concerned about was very close to charging me thousands of dollars for nothing. Hence, even in an industry that I had learned not to completely trust, I really think these guys from Ecojay have the right mindset and God on their side. It is important to have a product that works perfectly, as well as exceptional service.

Thermostats that work with Nest are perfect for this product You can swap out this for It is a tech The goal I had was to reduce my energy bill so I purchased several Nest thermostats in order to replace simple programmable Beutler thermostats
5/5

As part of my preparation for purchasing the thermostats, I had gone through all the compatibility analysis to make sure it was an easy swap. It turned out that I was not getting the required 24V of power even with the thermostats connected to a common wire. I had a local HVAC company come out to check the installation after hours of troubleshooting and discussions with a Nest support tech. They found that the problem was related to the Beutler/Z-wave setup. Only a 12-volt controller can be used in this scenario It got 14V from the fan even though it was getting 24V from the wall. This seems like a brilliant scam by Beutler because they still get the upgraded 24V controller maintenance business in exchange for losing their thermostat business to better smart thermostats like Nest. This led me to look into finding my own replacement controller to get out of under Beutler and to save $1,000. The other controllers I checked had mixed reviews, so I was hesitant to believe that the reviews that stated how easy it was to install and how easy it was to get working were true. The SmartZone controller was a good gamble. I'm glad I did. This product came with easy-to-follow installation instructions with illustrations and color coding that were very clear and detailed. A HVAC company advised me that I couldn't install my control panel after I spent a minimum of 15 hours and spent over $300 to get my SmartZone controller installed. After installing the SmartZone controller, it took less than an hour and a half for my thermostats to operate properly. Not actually installing and wiring the controller took most of my time I spent most of my time figuring out the normal position of my air diverters. The controller displays multiple LED lights that let you know what the controller is attempting to do (turn on the fan, open the divert, turn on the furnace, etc. ) so you can diagnose if there is a problem with the controller or equipment. Thus, if you have a Beutler HVAC system and the controller has 12V on the R power terminal and you wish to install Nest or another smart thermostat to your HVAC system, this would be the most cost-effective method to get the required 24V. It is not necessary to hire a HVAC company to set up your system A P will be charged to you. The cost of installing the controller will be a few hundred dollars. The SmartZone is simple to set up and is most likely to work with a bit of brainpower.

I've been using Ecojay 2X since a couple years now
5/5

It is excellent to get phone support from the company. Since I was so satisfied with the support I received from Jeff, I wanted to submit a review. There is no gas in my system. It has two zones, one for downstairs and one for Having purchased a new smart zone controller made by Zonex, I recently replaced my out-of-date Zonex controller. In order to install the new system, we only had to unterminate the wires from the old system and then terminate them on the Soon after turning the power on to the ecojay system, the blower started and wouldn't shut Four hours later, I emailed the support number when I was still unable to resolve the problem without assistance from others. Around 120, I sent them an email I had hoped to hear back from them Monday morning when I woke up at 30 AM Sunday morning. Before 7 AM, I got a response from Mr. Jeff letting me know that that technically technical support would not be available on the weekends, but that if I called him before noon, he could assist me for troubleshooting. He asked me to read out the LEDs that were on after talking to him and explaining the issue I was having. Immediately after that, he asked me to remove the "W" wire coming from the thermostat on the second zone ecojay system, and the fan motor stopped working. A quick conversation about what could be going on led to his response that the thermostat was the most likely problem. To purchase one, he told me to go to the hardware store and make sure it has a "C" slot along with the R, Y, G, and old thermostat lacked a "C" When I inspected the thermostat, I found that where the batteries had been installed, it had been a bit rusted and that something didn't seem right. As a result, I went down to Home Depot and bought As with the last one, I terminated it exactly the same, except this time I terminated the "C" wire.
Everything worked correctly this time. My heart is so full! It cost me less than $250 to accomplish all of this. Jeff P. would not have been able to do it. Thanks to him for his technical assistance.
