Product Description

A 2 year replacement policy with UL listing by Protector
This coil comes with a 32 FLA ampere rating, a 1 pole with shunt, and a 24 volt power supply. Most 1 pole contactors rated at 20 amps, 25 amps, or 30 amps on ACs and heat pumps can be replaced by this contactor
The contact coil is encased in an enclosed enclosure and the 24 volt contacts are encapsulated
For connections involving high voltage, heavy lug terminals and push-ons are used
It's used by Carrier, Bryant, Payne, Rheem, Ruud, and Weatherking, Lennox, Armstrong, Ducane, Trane, York, Coleman, Evcon, Luxaire, Heil, Comfortmaker, and Tempstar.

Questions & Answers

Could you please tell me if it's the same as the homer d157567p02 that's on the trane xl12i?

Unless you know that number, if the way you currently have it is rated at 32 amps or less, has a 24 volt operating coil, and is a one pole model, then it should work with this one. Please accept our sincere thanks for the inquiry you sent us.

Can the contractor be energized by a coil with a small amount of AC power? In order to maintain it energized, what current must hold it in place?

For the coil, there is no published amp rating, but all applications we are aware of use a transformer with a voltage of 24 volts and a VA rating of 40 volts. Please accept our sincere thanks for the inquiry you sent us.

Does a better job than
4/5

On the side, I do some HVAC work, and three out of four times, I bought contactors at an area supply house when I had to change them for a customer. Firstly, the markup on these cheap parts is insane. I can get the part I need on Amazon for $11 for a buck less than their charge. The second point is that all three times I have used cheap contactors, I have had to go back and replace them with this brand, and so far, I have had good results. So far, this product is working as advertised, but I can't speak to its longevity as I have only been using it a few months.

Almost any part you need for an emergency can be ordered online, and rural areas may not have access to them
5/5

As pictured in the left photo, the new part has been installed. On the right are two photos of an old building that's burned down. It is very easy to install this new part by simply replacing one wire from the old part to the new. The old 10/2 power line could not handle extreme fluctuations in power when starting an outside compressor, so I had to run a new 8/2 power line to handle those fluctuations. In addition to the old line, the breaker was also blown due to the old line running mostly through the attic. To be safe, always remember to turn off the main power to any house you enter. Unless you have access to a more knowledgeable coach in your immediate vicinity, never push yourself beyond your comfort level.

Due to its stew down wire, this contactor was the right choice for me
5/5

Due to the stew down wire lugs, I opted to use this contactor rather than a screw terminal. I found that my contactor was stuck closed (points stuck together), which is common for contactors nearing age 5 or more. It is a good idea to take a picture of the old unit before removing it so that you are sure that the newly installed one will fit. The unit has been running flawlessly since installation about a month prior to this This application allows you to view the voltages at the points of the contactors as well as remotely operate the corresponding contacts. It is a product that I would purchase.

The system did not function as expected
3/5

Since I got a bad one (partly), I can't give this product As an electric current is applied to the coil, it pulls the switch into the closed position, turning the compressor and fan on. Upon opening the switch on the contactor, power was only cut to the compressor when it came in contact with the contactor I received I don't know who the fan is. Not being able to shut it off would cause the fan to continue running. Then and now. My jaw dropped when I saw the voltage that was present, so I uninstalled the contactor and hooked up my meter. In fact, though the switch was open, continuity could be detected on the switched side. The item was returned and a new one was ordered.

I worked with my Rheem system
5/5

A sticky Rheem control relay on my HVAC unit needed to be replaced and I bought this to do so. It hasn't been long since we wore it for the first time, so we can't comment on durability, but fit and function seem fine.

It is a very good product that you should replace your old contact every 7 years, since it is quite good

This replacement AC is perfect for a Carrier system
5/5

The replacement contactor was easy to install and fit perfectly in the Carrier air conditioning unit of the same base model number. Due to differences between the L1/L2 terminals from OEM unit, wiring had to be rotated, but not a big deal. Following the wiring diagram for your unit will get you up and running in no time.

It's great just that the original was labeled differently
5/5

I had unswitched L1 to T1 and L2 or T2 on my original, but this has two unswitched wires. Only one 24v wire is connected to this, and it is situated on each side of the device. The problem is not that serious, just.
