In the last 6 months, I replaced the heating element on a new fan. After examination, it was discovered that the heating element was in flawless condition, but the thermister in series with it was failing. It appears that such failures have become common complaints I do not know if it is a result of a thermister failure or from an element failure. My guess is that the thermisters are either applied incorrectly or just faulty. I am not able to see the ratings on the ones I have, so I plan on digging into it and fixing the failed one and making a spare in the next few months.

By removing the old image and comparing it to the new picture, I found out which one is correct. There should be a model number on the protective cover of Broan fans. You can see what models this heating element will be compatible with by looking at heating element s9702088. Heat elements like these are extremely fragile and will burn out if kept in heat for an extended period of time. You'll only need to leave the heater on for a short period of time so be sure to leave it on. Replaced and very pleased with the results.

In my test, I made sure the fan spun up quickly to prevent the thermal fuse from blowing and the unit from overheating. However, it is not for the faint of heart to replace the fuse. It is sufficient to clean your fan often enough to prevent it from plugging and overheating. The new heater has worked flawlessly for a month. It would be even better if the part itself self reset like a hair dryer. I've updated to I won't complain about the part, it did what it was supposed to. However, despite the fact that the blower fan was cleaned thoroughly, lubricated with oil, and bench tested, the fan failed after a few weeks, taking out the coil's 1 time thermal fuse. This time I will replace each gut with a new one.
Initially, I had to replace this element once and it lasted approximately five I worked on it for about 10 minutes and My unit fit perfectly and I expect it to last at least another five I used it only a handful of times after installing it and about 30 days later, much to my chagrin. Having just blown cold air, the heater is now blowing cold air again, which indicates the heating element is already burnt out. I am not sure if it was this brand or what, but the last one I replaced lasted a long time. The money I spent on this was not worth it to me.
Play a game. This can be installed by anyone without the aid of an engineer. I find it to be exactly the same as the original one, no surprises, no modifications. Unscrew four screws, pull out the old, replace it with the new, and screw four screws back This is complete. It has been discontinued since I bought my old heater. The item was around $300 when it was found. It was used in this heating element. What's 20 dollars? Is $25 okay? The unit can be repaired for much less money and less time than if it were to be replaced.
I am not happy about the negative reviews the replacement unit has received but had no choice since the original heater died and I don't want to replace the whole unit at the moment. It is invaluable to have this source of heat in the bathroom during the winter. My first surprise was seeing just how much lint was trapped in the fan and heating unit during installation of the new heater, and then cleaning everything thoroughly afterwards. In my opinion, if this unit is caked in lint and overheated, it may burn out. I had no problems with the replacement process. We will hope for the best and clean the entire fan unit once a year to see if the heater unit's longevity issues improve.
The parts are fine, and I had no problems with the online ordering and shipping, but it is very disappointing to have to get this part in the first place. The heater that came with the laptop should not have broken. Due to its design flaw, it is not possible for the heater fan motor to get up to full speed fast enough, which leads to overheating of the heating element.
With a temperature of just 100C (boiling point of water), it can supply 10 A of power. Should this unit fail, you might consider going to your local electronics provider and trying to install one yourself that has a higher temperature rating (make sure, however, you have some basic electrical knowledge or experience, as these things are not easy to do). If not, get another one and see if you can fix it. It might be worth exploring a new exhaust fan system if the unit fails yet again.
Junk all the way. It died last year after I replaced it with an original element. I bought another one and it died as soon as it arrived. The repair of this device can be done for 50 cents and with I will not spend any more time or money on this inferior.
The heating element lasts for only a very short time in other reviews. Will see in time, and if it ends up being short lived, I'll certainly come back to update my review as soon as possible. Update 10/2019 Still up and running with no issues! Update 11/2019 Gone. The following is what I noticed when I replaced the second element. There may have been other factors at play other than the product itself.
