The truth is, I am unable to answer that question. In several YouTube videos, I saw examples that gave me ideas. I'm not trained in DIY, but I followed the directions. When I checked parts availability through Amazon & eBay, I came across a compatibility table that looked something like this Sites other than this one. It is worth noting for the record that the White Rodgers Furnace Control Board I bought has worked as described for nearly a year now.

It seems I've managed to solve my mystery bugs. I had encountered some transient mystery bugs with the heather that I was unable to figure out (transient bugs where the board would throw different codes or get stuck with the fan on, I replaced all the obvious parts that were easy to change, and then it came down to the board. It's been working perfectly for the last three months now, and it was easy to swap. The main board should be used if everything else fails to fix your problem.
Part of the sentence is incorrect.
It must be delivered in order for it to work. The blower fan had stopped running, and I had found that the run cap is still fine, so I assumed I needed this. Sure enough, the old board was completely fried. It was just a simple swap and the system was working again. The pop was caused by what? Runnin' the fan motor makes these relays so hot they melt. The board will eventually become too heavy for them and sometimes they'll pick it up. In my case, after a few decades, it did. In my opinion, the seller should have packed the second board properly so that the second board did not get misplaced in transit. I ordered two of them and paid for the one-day expedited Almost two days after I ordered, I received one, then the other has been in shipping limbo for two weeks now. After TWO WEEKS of no activity on the order, I had to cancel it.

That's so sweet! I was having issues with my AC, but that fixed it. It has been a while since I used my oldest board. I was delighted with how well this replacement replaced the old one. My heating and cooling is not my strength, but I was able to replace it on my own. I found installation of the new board to be very straight forward.
