This is the 8" because the next size down is a 6" and I needed stuff in the 6 1/2"- Range of 7" in diameter. Despite the fact that the grooves for the screws are not very long, the clamp can only squeeze down to about 7 1/4" in diameter when fully tightened. It would be useful for them to give the diameter range it will fit, if they are planning on having a fairly short tightening range. It is not stated in the description how large the range is. Because the grooved area of this clamp is so long, there tends to be a lot of range with this type of clamp.
It was an enjoyable experience to use I used it on an 8" vent hose and it worked well. Although I'm not sure what the actual strap length is, it must be over eight inches. It only takes a few seconds to wrap around the hose, slip in the end, By the way, this is a great product. When they arrive, they are wrapped in a baggy that you will have to shake out. The clamp strap should be rubbed over the edge of a board or similar to get the bend to conform to your needs. You will be able to do it in no time. Make sure you do not overdo it. Go, steady as you.
If you have a small hose, DON'T order this. A couple weeks ago, I put 4" insulated hoses in and wanted some "breathing room" on the (Someone recommended getting larger clamps for Here are the ones I got. It is not possible to adjust them beyond a certain point. There was no way to tighten down the 4-inch hose even to the point of making it unusable. To get the job done, I had to buy other clamps. I am disappointed. Wouldn't it be nice if they perforated a few more inches so these are.
The review tells us what the band diameter range is. There is a stamp on the 8" band reading A 215 mm thick sheet of paper. Therefore, 7 is the result. A 68" x 8" print will be produced. Approximately 46" tall. There is a stamp on the band of 10" that reads The width of the file is 265mm. There are nine decimal places in that number The dimensions of 64" x 10 are 64x10. 43" in length. In terms of the worm gear, I would like to see the notched portion of the band be longer, so that it could fit a wider range of diameters.
CHECK OUT THIS WEBSITE BEFORE BUYING! Buying this product is not recommended! I'm not sure what to say about this piece of garbage. A ZIP TIE is used to hold the screws in place! I don't think it matters, the screw does not engage anyway. No matter how hard I try, the band will not tighten. I threw it in the trash can right away.
Having bought a set of these 2 clamps to replace a set of clamps for my dryer vent that were incredibly poorly designed, I was very pleased. Our problem stemmed from the fact that they did not tighten to exactly 4 inches (in fact, it was a little less than that). By turning the bolt, the end of the clamp is pulled through, tightening the clamp as it tightens. The bolt is a hex shape, with the option to use a flat head screwdriver. Is simple to use and does exactly what it claims to do.
For pipe up to 3" in diameter, these clamps would be best. IF you have the tools you can gang these two to make ONE clamp, however, since I was running stove hood vent pipe I just used metal tape.
The fans were utilized to hook up some bathroom vents. The new ties worked very well, much more effectively than the old zip ties.
