am not sure if the 6 inches will adjust that far down. In general, they are not likely to get smaller than a larger diameter. If you do not want them to expand out over an inch, you might consider the 4 inch size.
There is no problem in slipping the clamp over an 8" duct because it has enough diameter.
It is important to note that the maximum size is 8 inches
There is indeed the possibility of loosening these to fit around insulated ducting that is a little larger than 10 inches in diameter.

I ordered this 6-inch flex pipe to connect it to my new dust pickup In the end, I had to drop down to the 4" ports after running 6" metal duct for as far as I could go The stepdown was accomplished with the help of this flex on short runs. It is solid enough to handle my 3 hp dust collector with ease because the metal wire is solid. It was easy to attach the clamps, and the pipe was able to be fitted over the male end of the duct, with enough room to adjust to the correct tightness The fact that they were too small did not bother me. Consequently, I am satisfied with this product since it performs the function for which it was purchased.
As of last week, all mailboxes line up at the corner of the highway where we moved to a rural area. Because there wasn't enough room for another mailbox, we had to screw ours to the outside of the main post. The next day, our mailbox was on the ground and we found the post to be rotten, and the screws had ripped the wood out like a banana. Our first step was to get these clamps and attach them to the mailbox, wrap them around the pole and tighten Here is our mailbox firmly attached to the wall.
I used this clamp with a 4 inch dryer duct. It arrived in good shape, no bent straps or dents in the worm gear track which mean it's difficult Overall, I did not find any problems with them and they seemed to be of good quality.
There were no 8" duct clamps available locally the largest I could find was a 7" clamp at Lowe's and Home Depot. The purpose of these clamps was to secure the double wall flue pipes of my wood stove. Despite having a clamp for their pipes, Supervent's costs around $10 apiece, and the clamps we found are not better than This is a good deal as well!.
I found these clamps fairly substantial and they were able to hold a 5 in. tube well. Although they are large enough to clamp over 6" flexible hose, they are not large enough for 6" rigid hose.
Since I could not find these locally at a reasonable price, I ordered them from Amazon for quite a bargain. They have been working very well so far.
There is value. A clamp that accomplishes the same work for half the price of others. This is an extremely sturdy product.
The products arrived at their destination in good condition and on time. The clamps are standard hose clamps and work as you'd expect.
