The lights are bright, and there is even a dimming option!
No, not at all. In the bottom half of the chimney section, there is an exhaust fan. It raises the height of the section with the grills and controls by about a foot, if my memory serves me correctly. The air would blow out the top of the fan if there was no duct in place. There is a photo of the exhaust sitting on a table without the chimney pieces covering the fan in the review photos.

I hung it on the wall and it looks great. There aren't any issues at all, thank you very much. Wrapped, relatively quiet, and a great deal. Because of the space above my range, I was limited in my options, but the unit does not feel like a compromise.
The suction is strong, I like the touchless aspect of the system, and the removal is excellent. The LED lighting is quite effective. It's not blindingly bright, but it'll do for now. I wish the stack was longer, but I understand that these dimensions are typical; overall, I like the price, I like the ease of installation, and I would definitely recommend it.
This is fantastic! Suction is strong, and the overhead lights are bright but not overbearing. It's critical! Make sure the bottom of the vent is mounted above your head, as the motion sensor may inadvertently turn it on and off, giving you a headache. Make sure you have a level and that your measurements are correct.
For the money, this is a fantastic product! I had to make a custom surround for the unit because I needed it to mount over an island, but it arrived in excellent condition with no damage. In terms of performance, it moves a LOT more air than I expected! It's the icing on the cake that there's a remote control.

The lack of touch controls was a nice touch. It's bright, it moves a lot of air, and it's an attractive hood at a reasonable price.
I just opened it and noticed that the filter was uneven. It's not a big deal; I can get another one if necessary, but everything else functions normally.
The hood's right side is sagging down because it can't support its weight horizontally. Although it is not visible from the front, the back side was also bent in several places.
