It's a lot quieter than the one it's replacing. The light is bright and easy to reach, and you can use any type of light bulb because it only requires a standard light bulb. Installing it is fairly self-explanatory, but the included instructions are also simple to follow. I would strongly suggest it. It appears to have cost a lot more than it actually did. I also purchased an open box return on Amazon, which was even cheaper and unopened. It's a great product, and I'll definitely use Broan Nutone products for future jobs.
The light and exhaust features are particularly appealing to us. Once you get past the idea of cutting a hole in a perfectly good exterior wall, it's fairly simple to install. Vents to the top or back using a 3x10 duct flange. You'll also require the use of an outside vent. Purchase a good one from Amazon, such as Broan. This isn't your run-of-the-mill junk from a big box store. br>It was fun to smell the sausage and peppers outside for a change, even though the food smelled good inside as well. br>Only a few range-related options So I'm still looking for a good LED in this size. For the time being, use a standard Cree 40w equivalent and hope it lasts.
I recently remodeled my kitchen and had no intention of replacing my dusty old hood. I ordered this because I needed one right away because my contractors were wrapping up their work. I couldn't find a 36-inch one in the store. I don't mind that the light cover is plastic; my previous one had an exposed bulb. It was simple to take out and replace the bulb. Although it attracts fingerprints, I wipe it down frequently, as I do with all of my other appliances. I rarely use the fan function, so the fact that the high setting is a little louder than the previous one doesn't bother me. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
This was simple for me to install, but I am an electrician by trade. To make the wiring neater and safer, I needed to install a junction box in the cabinet above. I didn't have to go through that ordeal because I already had a chimney duct, but I did have to move the collector to accommodate my needs. Overall, it wasn't too bad, and having a functional vented hood is a huge plus. It took the place of a Broan model that was similar. The only difference was that the older one had a fan speed rheostat. This is a product that I would recommend and would buy again if I needed one.
The replacement of the old unit went without a hitch. It isn't as loud as the one we replaced, which was 20 years old, but it isn't quiet either. But I wasn't expecting ultra-quiet from a device that cost less than $100. It looks fantastic and is definitely worth considering for a low-cost renovation.
This is a simple range hood with no frills. The low fan speed produces a reasonable amount of noise. The high fan setting makes a lot of noise, but it does get rid of any cooking smoke. Note that there is an identical model with a filter slot in case you can't vent it to the outside; if you don't plan on using the filter, don't buy that model. Other reviewers complained that the hole where the filter would go was difficult to seal. You won't need to be concerned with this model.
For the quality and finish, this is a fantastic price. It's not the quietest range hood on the market, but it does the job and looks great. Unlike previous hoods, which had specific parts that became obsolete over time, requiring the entire hood to be replaced over something as simple as a switch, the majority of parts appear generic enough to find replacement parts should something fail down the road.
This is a good hood for the money. It was very simple to put together and it looks great. It only has two vent settings, and the light can only be turned on or off; there is no dimming option, but it's still a nice-looking hood. With the exception of a light bulb, it came with everything you need.
