This range hood has a great look and is very functional. In our recently renovated kitchen, it looks fantastic. We receive a great deal of positive feedback. There will be no more bacon odor in the house throughout the day.
br> Let's start with the good:
1. It was an excellent solution. All three fan speeds are controlled by the buttons, with high being the most powerful. , two front lights - both were successfulbr>br>br>br>br>br> Everything arrived in good condition and was well packaged.
3. The instructions were adequate for the task at hand. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this method.
1. The blue sticky that covered every possible surface took a long time to remove; please make it easier (less sticky) to remove.
2. The bracket that holds the motor housing and the entire unit should have been better designed, because when installing into the cabinet, we had to have the bracket already attached before screwing it in, rather than first installing the bracket and then hanging the unit on bracket, which made leveling very difficult. It would also be very helpful if a template (for height, screw location, and leveling guidance) was included to make it easier to install.
3. The oil trap that comes with the motor is something I've never seen before. I'm not sure why the motor will leak oil and, if it does, what this means for its longevity.
4. In the future, I'll try to update this and add some pictures of the installation.
This hood has made me very happy. It appears to be well-made and of high quality. Not as simple to install as some other reviews have claimed, especially since the manual appears to be for a different design for the method of wall attachment. I eventually figured it out, but sliding the duct cover through the outer sleeve scratched the inner sleeve of the duct cover. Also, if your ceiling/wall has a cove, be prepared to drill holes in the sleeve so you can attach it to the bracket below the cove.
I didn't want to spend a lot of money (less than $200) because I'm remodeling my 1971 kitchen piece by piece because I can't afford to spend $55,000 all at once. This vent is sleek, quiet, and very modern in appearance, though it appears to work well in a more traditional/transitional setting as well. I intend to remove the upper cabinets and replace them with bare tiled walls and shelving. It was only recently installed, and it took the contractor about two hours to complete. 5 hours (removing the old cabinets was more difficult than installing the vent). I am pleased with this purchase, and believe it will complement a transitional kitchen look when finished. The controls are on the front, and there is very little noise. The old cabinets will be removed eventually, so please forgive their appearance.
It's lovely! br>I hired a pro to put it in.
Great product, but the medium and high fan speeds are a little too loud. I can't complain because having a fan and light is better than having none because I had a new installation in an older home. My house has gained in value. I reduced the size of the hole in my wall from 6 inches to 4 inches at the end because it won't affect the function and will leave a smaller hole. It works because I simply cut the pipe and taped it.
Our neighborhood has a great vibe to it. It does a good job in my opinion, and I would suggest it to others. The only reason I gave it four stars is that I'll have to work something out with the chimney. With our high ceilings, the outer/inner system is difficult to use. If you have higher ceilings, I'm sure you'll be able to make it work. It would be more convenient to take the chimney all the way up and have the venting done that way. We only have a smidgeon of room to use both- However, both are required. It'll all work out in the end. It wasn't as simple as I'd anticipated.
If you, like me, are a terrible cook who is constantly burning food, this is the kitchen hood for you. It's not as nice as a more expensive model in terms of appearance and fit and finish, but it's got a powerful motor and can be installed quickly; for the money, I don't think you can do much better.
