Questions & Answers

This was purchased a few weeks ago and is in excellent condition. However, it states that it is made in Canada (a pleasant surprise), despite the fact that this page states that the origin is China. Is there a reason for this?

Venmar in Canada produces them. Thank you for alerting us to the fact that the information on the page is incorrect.

We currently have a fan that is vented to the outside. Is the external fan required for this unit or does it come with it? Isn't it true that I'm a smidgeon of a conu?

The motor is included with the E6430SS. It's a fully functioning system. An external blower would be required for the E64E30SS.

removing and replacing the grease tray and baffle filters?

It's simple to get rid of them.

Worked well (5 stars) until a major problem arose
3/5

I purchased this unit two years and six months ago as part of a massive kitchen renovation that took a few months. It worked great (5 stars) until there was a major issue and I had to call Broan Support. There was a major problem with the motor or the speed control almost exactly 2 years after it was installed. Not 100% sure because I had TERRIBLE support service from Broan in the past. I dialed for help - For ten minutes, I spoke with a man. The problem was thoroughly explained. The guy had no idea what he was doing and couldn't tell me which of the $100 parts was broken. So, as a last resort, he sent me a new blower assembly (despite the fact that my unit was no longer covered under warranty). "Have you had the unit for a long time?" he inquired. "About two years," I replied. "He said he'd send me the part for free because it was nearing the end of the one-year warranty. " This is fantastic news! All I had to do was email him a photo of the serial number and my receipt. I emailed him the Amazon receipt as well as a photograph. After about an hour, I receive the following response: "I'm sorry, sir, but I'm afraid I won't be able to send you the repair parts. The range hood has a one-year warranty, so when you said it was only two years old, I thought you were kidding. According to the receipt, it is only slightly more than two dollars. 1/2 of a year old SV08097 is the part number for the blower assembly, which includes the motor, blower wheel, scroll housing, and other components. capacitor is a type of capacitor. This part is available through our Customer Service Department, which can be reached at 800-447-4747. 558- 1711 "br>br>Thank you for your help! So, because he can't do his job, I should spend $300 on an assembly and $500 on a fan motor for a $600 hood I bought two and a half years ago? Broan's team gets a no thanks. They should hire more support personnel.

My beard was almost sucked up into the vents by this hood
5/5

Holy cow! My beard was almost sucked up into the vents by this hood! I like that I can set it for low speed and quiet, which is great for simmering, but if I'm cooking Chinese in a wok, I can crank it up to high (yes, it's loud) and it easily sucks up all the smoke. For years, I used a smaller range hood that could never catch all of the smoke, even when using Turbo Boost. Certainly does this one! br>br>It also has a more "old-fashioned" feel to it, which I like. The fan has an "old-fashioned" rheostat control, as well as an "old-fashioned" rheostat control. I have an "old fashioned" knob type light control, as well as a solid rocker switch that turns on the fan (which also means I can set the rheostat to whatever speed I want, and then use the switch to turn the unit on and off with perfect "memory. ") I've had the units with the soft touch electronic panel, and they seem to always fail, necessitating a difficult replacement. Why is there so much goo- oh, if only the old fashioned stuff was still available? Of course, I'm hoping the controls never fail, but if they do, I won't have to replace the entire mother-in-law unit. electronic circuit board BTW - My wife appreciates the fact that the controls are hidden (just beneath the front edge's "lip"). It has a very tidy appearance.

Stove Hood is fantastic! My purchase has exceeded my expectations! I did a lot of research before buying this because I wanted something that was both powerful and attractive, as well as easy to clean
5/5

I've had it for about nine months and use it almost every day because I'm a big cook. Until I bought my house last year, I'd always lived somewhere with a professional stove hood, so replacing the junky built-in microwave exhaust fan with a heavy duty one was one of my first priorities. Because this stove hood has an electrical whip rather than a regular plug, I had to have an electrician install it because it needed to be connected to the microwave outlet. For an electrician, it's simple, but it's not something I'd like to do. br>br>FYI, the blue light came on when I first turned on the blower, but the motor was not running. One of the connections inside had become loose, most likely during shipping, and the electrician had to reconnect it. Just a suggestion in case anyone else is having similar problems.

We are pleased with our purchase because it has a nice appearance and has a lot of power
4/5

It has a lot of power and is relatively simple to set up. I'd give this a four out of five stars if I could. 5 stars. This has a lot of fan support, and we're really happy with how well it's working out. When the noise level is set to low to medium low, you barely notice it while cooking, so I don't think there are any issues. br>br>The lights are a little finicky to install; my husband struggled, but I managed with my smaller hands. It did, however, take some time and patience. My only other criticism is that the controls are not very intuitive; the fan has an on/off switch and a speed control knob. Instead of using a switch, the light is controlled by a knob. I'm sure I won't notice it as much in time, but for now, I have to think about each function before making a change.

The motor's hum is louder than the exhaust noise! This model replaced a Broan Allure QS3 that was 21 years old
3/5

Two people were required to complete the installation. Added value: Suction is good, and the lighting is good. Points deducted: GU10 bulbs are used in these lights. Switches that wobble in place because they are inexpensive. Breaking Point: Exhaust sound is moderately loud until it is turned all the way up. WILL RARELY BE REQUIRED, BUT THE MOTOR'S HUM CAN BE HEARD FROM ACROSS THE ROOM! At the same low setting, the 21-year-old model was incredibly quiet, with no motor hum. I would still have it today if the circuit board hadn't died and I hadn't been able to find another. Broan will be contacted, and the review will be updated based on his or her response.
