Yes, you could do that, but there are three caveats: 1) The length of this blower is 30 inches. which is the definition of a standard range - The range's DEPTH is only 21 inches, so the blower would extend 9 inches beyond the range's top. So your island would have to be at least 34 inches deep, if not more, to give the granite cutter a 2-inch margin of error. a border of one inch (A non- The thickness of the granite countertop is unlikely to be critical, and it may be as little as 1 inch, so you'll need a 32-inch slab. depth in inches - However, I'm speculating! The second point to consider is that two of the burners would be located quite far away from the blower. My 30- A 22-inch cooktop would put the blower at a distance of 22 inches, and a larger cooktop would put it even further away. My furthest burner from the blower, as it stands, is 13 inches away. (Keep in mind that the cooktop is only 21 inches deep, so the blower will be 9 inches closer to the farthest burner than if it were on the side.) My third caveat is that I'm not sure you'd want this thing coming up alongside the cooktop because it could obstruct your movement while cooking, i.e. , burger flipping, and stir-frying I'm sorry to put such a damper on your idea by frying, plating up, and so on; All the hassles - I recall thinking about them while designing our kitchen. today's jargon for problems! It was up to us to deal with and overcome. It all comes together in the end. (PS If you're going to install a black or very dark countertop, the black cover is a must.) ) Best of luck! When you're finished, please let me know how everything went!
The blower is built into the unit, so all you have to do is plug it in and vent it outside; it works great and was a great deal; I checked at appliance stores and they wanted $1,000. For the same thing, you could pay 00 or even more. In a heartbeat, I'd purchase it again!
Yes, it is a stand-alone unit that is not connected to the cooktop in any way.
On low, it's quite quiet. The fan becomes louder as you increase the volume.

With the Broan name, we decided to take a risk. Keep in mind that this professional installation cost $350, so we only wanted to do it once. However, it died after six months. "Can't return because it's been too long," Amazon says, while the seller says "sorry, no warranty. " I should have invested a little more money in the beginning. This is a flimsy piece of nonsense.
There's a nice downdraft going on here. So, why are there three stars?
1. Don't be surprised if this item is damaged when it arrives. This is due to the unit's poor packing and its weight ( 70 lbs). As a result, it invariably sustains damage in transit; in my case, the ends of the top (the shiny, fancy part that protrudes above the countertop) were badly bent on one end. Out of the box, the bottom aluminum, which connects to the external vent pipe, was also badly bent.
2. The vacuum fan is housed in a large steel cube, making it difficult to route piping beneath existing gas countertops. It's a lot easier to route around round edges (which is the case inside the cube) than it is to route around straight edges. So, what's the big deal about the extra steel cube? It also contributes to the overall weight.
3. There are two extra filters included, but no instructions or indication of where they should be installed.
4. I'm not sure why $756 is the price! I understand that heavy duty steel and a fan have a sunk cost, but this is ridiculously expensive, and I'm not sure why they didn't just use lightweight aluminum and make installation much easier. For a commodity unit like this, a reasonable price should be in the $300-$400 range. In my opinion, the maximum amount should be $400. It's essentially a vacuum fan with a lifting mechanism enclosed in a steel box. I'm not sure why $756 is the price. It's most likely due to the fact that it's a "kitchen" item. Overall, the product performs admirably, but it suffers from poor packaging, poor ergonomics, inexplicably high weight, and inexplicably high cost, which result in damage during transit.
This arrived in a jumbled state, as if it had been tossed around several times. I'm not sure if it was FedEx or your warehouse, but either way, it was unacceptable. I haven't installed it yet, so I'm hoping it wasn't damaged. Otherwise, I'll be wasting my money on counter tops.
This product is only for use on a stovetop, not in an oven. Now I'm stuck with a $533 item that I can't use because of the terrible return policy.
The packaging appeared to be fine, but the item was literally falling out of the cardboard.
About a year ago, we had it installed. It makes a lot of noise when it goes up and down, and the suction isn't very strong. It also recently broke. Purchase something or go somewhere else.
The box staples had been opened when I received the package. When the carton cover was removed, it was discovered that the styrofoam protectors had been torn and that the unit had a dent on the bottom edge. Fortunately, this portion had no effect on the unit's functionality. The motor and lifter are in good working order; however, you should modify your packaging procedure for this type of heavy unit, taking into account the mode of shipment.
high-quality.
