It was a pain to install this item. In order to remove my disposal from the sink and my sink from the counter, I had to completely uninstall the disposal. In the event that real Original Manufacturers Equipment is available somewhere else, I suggest purchasing it. In this case, a 1 minute job turned into a 45 minute ordeal in having to modify it so that it worked. It appears this issue appears in other reviews as well. It is a creditable company.

A 605560 combined with an ISE flange will solve the disposal leak issue. ISE replaced the 16-year-old Kenmore 1HP disposal flange and a brand new OEM gasket between the flange and gasket. Replacement was necessary due to leaks where the gasket splits causing the flange to rust. A water leak began to appear between the flange and the gasket as soon as the disposal was turned on. In order to avoid a complete ISE setup, I used this as a last-ditch effort. It was installed in less than five minutes and there was no leak, much to my surprise.

In my mind, I expected the CBC replacement to be a simple push-in. In order to replace my disposal, the old one had to be removed from below the sink, and the new one must be installed before I could install my disposal again. 45 minutes was the time it took me.

The gasket of most disposals is this size. I've installed too many disposals to know any better. If you use vaseline on the outside, you may find that the disposal slides into place more easily.
