Please note that only the Cover Control model series is covered by this warranty. Model 17 and PRO17 batch feed models will not be compatible with this stopper. Probability is not very high. With the stopper in place, the magnet activates the disposal, so feeding is not possible when the stopper is in place, and if it isn't, you cannot dispose of waste.

While having a fancy disposal with a magnetic switch may seem like a clever way to market a product, almost all of my friends have been unaware of the shortcomings of the magnetic stopper after installing the switch. A dishwasher is not suitable for washing this item. Over time, the magnets will gradually let moisture into the area around the stopper, and so you may need to buy a new one when the new stopper is hard to insert into the disposal. A hardware store did not carry the magnetic stopper I was looking for. Eventually, a neighbor got out of his rut and replaced the whole It took me just 15 minutes to get a replacement stopper, thus saving me $300 in plumbing costs. Although the fit is snug, a little more room would be nice. Worked for me. I'm so happy to have a garbage disposal that matches perfectly with this product. The OEM website of the manufacturer, even on Amazon, was no help in replacing my worn one. I tried various ways to replace my worn one without success. These little things are what make a difference.

I was so happy to have it since I was missing the original. My expectations were that I would have to replace my whole unit, but I did not.
While it was not mentioned whether or not this would work with KitchenAid, I am pleased to report that it does as a replacement just fine.
It was necessary to replace our garbage disposal that came with the original unit. The same quality is found here, as well as the same function.
This appears to be an OEM product. The quality is excellent. The software performs as expected. I was amazed at the speed of the next-day.
