I have updated for April 2017. There has been an increase in shipping and handling charges at Chemex! You can get free shipping when you purchase over $35 from Amazon.
As far as I can tell, it's just the shape. In addition to being cheaper, I like the fact that there is three layers of folded paper at the top of the pour spout to prevent a vacuum from forming, and the points sticking out make it easier to remove than the circular ones. These minor differences do not affect the overall quality of the work. It doesn't matter which way you use to make the coffee since both are equally effective.
I want to clarify the following Chemex filters can come in two types, "natural" brown and white. Those that say "oxygen cleansed" are the brown and white. There are no comments on this The 100 "Square") is a box of bleached white filters that do not smell like cardboard when wet. a. brown version (FSUA This 100 "Natural Square") is unbleached and does smell of damp cardboard when wet. Based on the part number for the brown version, I can only assume that "U" stands for unbleached. This item is preferred to me It is a bleached version of 100).

The water poured through the natural (brown) filter did have a mild but distinct "woody" or "papery" odor and taste to it The odor decreased with cooling, but the taste was still present. A minor tint can even be seen in the water due to The difference in brewed coffee (especially the strong brew from dark roast that I always make) isn't something I can detect by smell or taste, and of course factors beyond my control may also contribute to whether I should use either cleansed (white) filters or not. A more elaborate set of tests and recommendations (in which I did not participate) will be forthcoming at [.
The chemex method is my favorite method for making coffee. I also love how I can use the grinds for my compost pile, and I love the convenience of this filter. However, I purchased two of these at half the price and I got a permanent Gold filter from Barista Warrior on Amazon that has been much greater than I expected. Cleans out easily, rinses well, and can be refilled It is easy to use and the coffee is great. As long as these vendors can't realize the price should be $10 with shipping, I will not purchase any paper filters from them. You can find it at Williams Sonoma and Chemex, and it's the same at Sur La.
Personally, I find the "square" version of the filters to be more efficient. My filter collapsed in the pour spout when brewing due to my mistake last time and I bought the rounded version. The process of brewing in a chemex almost comes to a halt when this occurs because the pour spout acts as a breather. Now let's move forward to this round of Chemex filters where I decided to go back to the "square" Now the filter doesn't collapse on pour spout while brewing, which was the problem. The square filters can be purchased by clicking here.
For making coffee with my Chemex, I most often use this filter. There is an unbleached brand I have tried and there are others to try. In comparison to these classic Chemex filters, the other options either impart off flavors or do not produce as good a coffee flavor profile. A bright, clean coffee infused with subtle flavors and aromas will result from the use of these filters. I would not recommend these if it are your goal to have a full, rich cup of coffee and suggest that you try brewing it in a French Press. There is one major drawback to these filters in that you have to turn the square fold into a conical fold. When the folding occurs, there are 3 filter layers above the spout of the Chemex. You should not unfold the filter all the way. I watched my wife do this quite a few times, and although it tasted good the whole process was quite messy.
There is nothing like this and it truly is horrible. Having used Chemex for years, I recommend it to everyone. Buying filters from retailers and Amazon has been my experience. All cups that were tested prior to this batch of filters were excellent. Though I have tried changing my ratios and technique, I haven't been able to make a good cup of coffee. This is exactly the kind of waste of money, beans, and time I'm guilty of. My contact at chemex will handle this. This experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth (literally), that I'm considering dumping this company or product.
This is a very good set of photos. I love the flavor of this. To be honest, most of the other options just aren't as good as the one I purchased for myself. Usually, I'm a frugal buyer and will find a cheaper alternative. As I said, I have a hard time paying for these because, at the end of the day, they What a margin! I can only imagine what it is like. However, the coffee is extremely good and they extract just the right amount of bitterness from it, thus leaving a terrific cup. There have been some issues with the water taking FOREVER to filter if the grind isn't right, but that is more of a user error problem. Simple and easy to use, and following a simple process makes repetitive quality (pre-fill them in beforehand. Add ground coffee to wet filter before adding ground coffee). Using these filters, I have not had a "meh" cup. It's definitely a 4 out of 5. The only thing I wish was that the price was lower.
A great cup of coffee is something I really enjoy. It has been over 5 years since I picked up a Chemex carafe and I have grown accustomed to the quality of coffee it makes. As soon as the local store that sold the filters at a reasonable price went out of business, I had to find somewhere else to purchase them from. The Chemex filters are notoriously overpriced at most of the web sites that sell them, so I had a heck of a time finding a vendor who was willing to charge a reasonable price. I could not come up with a better vendor than this one.
I was able to see my love for pour after seeing my love for pour Chemex was the thing they urged me to try over coffee. The item captured my heart and I decided to buy Their recommendation was to buy from Amazon for a lower price. The product has been in my possession for about two weeks now and I have been in love with it. It has been the same paper filters in a Chemex brewer that have made my coffee smooth. Aside from being smooth, you also get no coffee grinds in it and the real taste of the coffee. And, you can clearly taste the region that it comes from (if you know about regions and the coffee beans they grow in. If you want fresh coffee beans, make sure you buy them! There is a slight difference between the regular pour and this It may be over, but believe me, it keeps its coffee taste! If you are a coffee enthusiast, you will love it. Now that I have the Chemex, I brew coffee using it more often than any other brewing method. I think it's my favorite method for *Brief note When I drink coffee, I usually don't add sugar, cream, or milk to it. If it isn't espresso coffee, I won't drink it.
